On December 12, at the National Historical Site of the Establishment of the National Salvation Army II - Khuon Manh Forest, Trang Xa Commune (Vo Nhai), the Command of Military Region 1 and Vo Nhai District jointly organized the Ceremony to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024) and the inauguration of the project to restore and embellish the Historical Site of the Establishment of the National Salvation Army II.

The speech at the ceremony by the leader of Vo Nhai district emphasized: The establishment of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army (December 22, 1944) - the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army, is a brilliant milestone in the history of the Vietnamese revolution, affirming the role of an army born from the people, fighting for the people. That tradition has become the guiding principle for the Vietnam People's Army over the past 80 years.

The speech also emphasized: The Party Committee, government and people of Vo Nhai district are always proud to be the land where the Second National Salvation Army Platoon was established on September 15, 1941 with 36 officers and soldiers. Although equipped with rudimentary weapons, the Platoon fought with the people and established the first district-level revolutionary government in Thai Nguyen . Later, the Second National Salvation Army Platoon was merged with other revolutionary armed forces to become the Vietnam Liberation Army, the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army.

The project started in February 2024, with a total investment of 14 billion VND, from capital from a number of enterprises under the Ministry of National Defense , additional capital from Military Region 1 and the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province.

Representatives of Thang Long Mineral Exploitation and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company presented funding to support the removal of 15 temporary and dilapidated houses in Trang Xa commune (Vo Nhai).

On this occasion, authorized by the President, Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung awarded the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal to an individual in Vo Nhai district; presented a television and audio equipment to the Traditional House of the Relic Site. The Ministry of National Defense awarded nearly 3.2 billion VND to support the construction of 2 village cultural houses and tree planting at the Relic Site. Thang Long Mineral Exploitation and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company awarded funding to support the removal of 15 temporary and dilapidated houses in Trang Xa commune (Vo Nhai).
