In early 2025, the BHL Son La Modified Starch Processing Plant Project in Mai Son Industrial Park officially started construction. After nearly 8 months of construction, with the support of local authorities and the efforts of the investor, the processing plant was completed. The project has a total investment of nearly 245 billion VND, with a design capacity of 90,000 tons/year, equivalent to 300 tons/day. The plant is invested with a modern, fully automated, environmentally friendly production line. This is one of the largest agricultural processing projects in the province to date.

Putting BHL Modified Starch Factory into operation opens up a new direction, shifting from "Traditional agricultural production" to "High-tech agriculture associated with value-added processing", raising the value of Son La cassava on the map of Vietnamese and international agricultural products.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: BHL Son La Modified Starch Factory is not simply an investment project, but also a symbol of modern development thinking, integration and connection between the State, enterprises, scientists and farmers. In the coming time, Son La province will promote investment attraction in the agricultural processing industry, encourage projects applying high technology, biotechnology, renewable energy towards green, circular and sustainable development. Develop concentrated raw material areas, form a value chain between enterprises and farmer cooperatives, ensure stable output, improve productivity and product quality.

The province will focus on building modern processing industrial clusters, developing logistics infrastructure, expanding export markets, and promoting digital transformation in management, production and consumption of agricultural products, aiming to form a smart and sustainable agricultural value chain..., contributing to making Son La become the agricultural product processing center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
