About 3.5 million people visit Buddha's relics at Quan Su Pagoda

A representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha said that about 3.5 million people and Buddhists came to worship Buddha's relics at Quan Su Pagoda.

Today, May 16, the third day Quan Su Pagoda (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi ) is open for free for people to worship the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni - the national treasure of India.

Speaking with Thanh Nien , a representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha said that it is expected that at around 9 p.m. the same day, Quan Su Pagoda will stop worshiping and paying respect to Buddha's relics to prepare for the procession of the relics to Tam Chuc Pagoda ( Ha Nam ).

Quan Su Pagoda is the third place where Buddha's relics are enshrined within the framework of the United Nations Vesak 2025. The representative assessed that in recent days, the worship and obeisance to Buddha's relics at the pagoda took place safely, orderly, and solemnly.

According to the representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, every day, about 1 million people and Buddhists come to worship. Therefore, by the end of the afternoon of May 16, about 3.5 million people came to worship Buddha's relics. This number does not include the number of people who followed the procession of relics around Hoan Kiem Lake on the evening of May 13.

It is expected that at around 5:30 a.m. on May 17, the Buddha's relics will be brought to Tam Chuc Pagoda for enshrinement. After that, the Buddha's relics will return to India.

The schedule for the procession of Buddha's relics from Quan Su Pagoda in the direction of Giai Phong Street, Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway to Liem Tuyen Toll Station (Thanh Liem, Ha Nam Province), through Liem Chinh Bridge - Le Cong Thanh Street - Bien Hoa Street - National Highway 1A - Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee - Hong Phu Bridge to Tam Chuc Pagoda.

From 5-7:30 a.m. the same day, Hanoi Traffic Police will restrict vehicles on the following routes: Ly Thuong Kiet (from Hoa Lo to Le Duan), Le Duan, Giai Phong and Do Muoi (from Ngoc Hoi to the entrance to Hanoi - Ninh Binh highway).
