In 2025, 19 new transport projects will be started and up to 50 projects will reach the finish line, contributing to the successful implementation of the target of 3,000km of expressway as directed by the Prime Minister .
According to information from the Ministry of Transport , in 2025, the Ministry has planned to strive to start 19 transport projects.

Of these, 12 projects started construction in the first quarter, including: Upgrading and expanding a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1 (Xuong Giang, Gianh, Quan Hau bridges and Deo Ngang tunnel); expanding the North-South expressway in the East, Cao Bo - Mai Son section; the route connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway with Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway.
Along with that are the expressways: Dau Giay - Tan Phu (PPP); Cho Moi - Bac Kan; Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway through the provinces: Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh; Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway; My An - Cao Lanh expressway phase 1; Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway (through Binh Duong).
6 projects started construction in the second quarter. Of which, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project through Binh Duong province is expected to start construction on April 30, 2025.
Five other projects include: Building an information system to serve the State management of the Vietnam Road Administration; Building Ninh Cuong bridge over Ninh Co river on National Highway 37B (ODA); Expanding the North-South expressway in the East, sections: Cam Lo - La Son, La Son - Hoa Lien; Upgrading weak bridges and connecting bridges on national highways (Phase II) using EDCF loan capital from the Korean Government.
There is 1 project starting construction in the third quarter of 2025, which is Upgrading and renovating National Highway 24B, section Km23 - Km29.
In 2025, the Ministry of Transport also plans to complete 50 transport projects.
Some key transport projects include: North-South Expressway, Eastern phase 2021-2025 (12 component projects); Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport; DATP3 runway item, Long Thanh International Airport; Component project 1 of Tan Van - Nhon Trach project, phase 1; Rach Mieu 2 bridge.
Along with that is the Ho Chi Minh road sections: Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa; Cho Chu - Trung Son intersection; Rach Soi - Ben Nhat, Go Quao - Vinh Thuan...
In particular, completing component projects, connecting the North-South expressway in the East and together with localities completing a number of expressway projects to complete the goal of putting 3,000km of expressway into operation; completing and basically connecting Ho Chi Minh road; basically completing the Long Thanh International Airport Project.
Previously, in 2024, the Ministry of Transport started 10 projects and inaugurated and put into operation 8 projects.
In the road sector alone, 8 projects have been started and 7 projects have been completed. Of which, the North-South Eastern Expressway in the 2017-2020 period has completed the entire 653km, marked by the completion of the last 2 component projects: Dien Chau - Bai Vot, Cam Lam - Vinh Hao. The total length of expressways nationwide has been increased to 2,021km.
