Commencement of project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 330

On the morning of August 19, the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Region II coordinated with the People's Committee of Ba Che Commune and the People's Committee of Ky Thuong Commune to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation and upgrading of Provincial Road 330 (section from Ba Che Commune to Provincial Road 342). This is one of the key projects chosen by Quang Ninh Province to start construction simultaneously with many other projects in the province and nationwide to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 and to welcome the 16th Congress of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

Provincial Road 330 is the main traffic axis that connects the highland communes with the provincial center and neighboring provinces. Currently, the road in use has the standard of a grade V mountain road, the roadbed is 5.5m-6.5m wide, the road surface is 3.5m wide, there are steep sections, hairpin bends, narrow roads that make it difficult for vehicles to move and unsafe.

With the goal of gradually completing a synchronous and modern traffic infrastructure system according to the planning, shortening the travel distance between highland communes and the provincial center, facilitating the trade of goods and connecting with Bac Ninh and Lang Son provinces through the 342 route being invested and other connecting projects in the investment preparation process, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the investment in the project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 330, the section from Ba Che commune (old Ba Che town) to provincial road 342, in Decision No. 2247/QD-UBND dated June 25, 2025.

Machinery and equipment commenced the project.

The project is invested by the Quang Ninh Province Construction Investment Project Management Board of Region II. The project implementation period is 2025-2027. The project has a route length of nearly 20.97km, about 2.5km shorter than the current route. The starting point of the route is at Km10+700 (in Ba Che commune), the end point of the route is at Km34+200 connecting to Provincial Road 342 (in Ky Thuong commune) with a total investment of 987 billion VND from the provincial budget.

The project is designed to meet the standards of a grade III mountain road, with a roadbed width of 9m, asphalt concrete pavement, and landscaped sidewalks in densely populated areas. To handle the bends, the project has been researched and designed to straighten the route to ensure technical factors, using bridges over rivers, viaducts, and retaining walls to reduce longitudinal slopes, expand visibility, and landscape along the route.

The project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 330 not only creates development momentum for the communes where the road passes through, but also demonstrates Quang Ninh's determination to complete synchronous traffic infrastructure, increase regional connectivity, thereby shortening the distance between regions, promoting economic development and improving people's lives.

The project was started on the occasion of the whole country celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, contributing to creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, strengthening people's trust in the Party's leadership and the province's development; at the same time helping people in Ba Che commune, Ky Thuong commune and neighboring areas to have more convenient travel, socio-economic development, and improve their lives.
