Construction begins on the Quang Tri Industrial Park Project.

This morning, December 15th, in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri Development Joint Venture Company Limited, in coordination with Quang Tri province, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Quang Tri Industrial Park Project. Attending the ceremony from the central government were: Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, along with leaders from various ministries, departments, and agencies. From Quang Tri province were: Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Quang Tung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; and former provincial leaders.

The Quang Tri Industrial Park project received investment approval from the Prime Minister on March 23, 2021, covering an area of ​​481 hectares with a total investment of VND 2,074 billion. Phase 1, with a scale of 97.4 hectares and a total investment of VND 504.39 billion, is being implemented in Dien Sanh town, Hai Truong commune, and Hai Lam commune (Hai Lang district).

The project is being implemented by Quang Tri Development Joint Venture Company Limited, a joint venture of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited, Amata Bien Hoa Urban Development Joint Stock Company (Thailand), and Sumitomo Group (Japan).

The project is expected to boost economic growth and thus promote the long-term development of Quang Tri province. The Quang Tri Industrial Park will be developed over 12 years, encompassing industries such as textiles, footwear, packaging, printing, wood processing and furniture, food and beverages, and is expected to create jobs for 30,000 to 40,000 workers once operational.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung emphasized that the Quang Tri Industrial Park project is a key project of the province, of great importance in attracting investment and developing the potential and strengths of Quang Tri. The Vietnamese Government expects this project to contribute to boosting the socio-economic development of the province, creating an economic center along the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar.

This industrial park also boasts modern infrastructure, with investment projects focusing on a green, renewable energy model, committed to environmental protection and solutions to support the transition to clean, renewable energy and reduce waste and emissions, in line with the country's rapid and sustainable development orientation.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed confidence in and high appreciation for the cooperation and investment of leading industrial park infrastructure developers in Vietnam and the region. With the motto: "Businesses develop, Quang Tri develops," Quang Tri province is always ready to create favorable conditions and support domestic and foreign businesses, acting as a friend to investors.

At the same time, we hope that the Government and central ministries and agencies will continue to pay more attention to and support Quang Tri province; and that the departments, agencies, and localities in the province will continue to promote administrative reform, actively coordinate and support investors in attracting and resolving procedures for secondary investors in Quang Tri Industrial Park, creating all favorable conditions to achieve the set plan and objectives.

Following this first phase, the province will work alongside the consortium of investors to continue implementing land clearance, infrastructure construction, and attracting investment for subsequent phases to complete the overall project according to the scale approved by the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Government, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung affirmed that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Quang Tri Industrial Park Project, undertaken by three leading international infrastructure investors in Vietnam, demonstrated the great efforts and high determination of the Government, the Party Committee, the administration and people of Quang Tri province, and the investors.

The project is expected to create an economic hub along the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. This will bring new impetus for development to Quang Tri province in particular, and to the North Central region and the whole country in general.

Based on favorable conditions such as strategic location, abundant human resources, clean land, clean energy, and timely attention and support from all levels and sectors, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested the Provincial People's Committee to soon finalize and submit to the Prime Minister for approval the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; and to review and adjust the General Planning for the construction of the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone to serve as a basis for implementing other plans and developing a medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030.

Focus research on realizing Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW dated November 3, 2022, of the Politburo on "Socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the North Central and Central Coastal regions until 2030, with a vision to 2045". Actively improve the investment and business environment, enhance the provincial competitiveness index, and make the best preparations in terms of land, infrastructure, and human resources to meet the needs of investors.

Continue to pay attention to, support, and accompany investors throughout the project implementation process, ensuring progress, quality, safety, and efficiency. Effectively implement the housing development strategy for workers and ensure social security.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung also requested that investors fulfill their commitments regarding finances and approved timelines, while ensuring that the project's construction is carried out safely, in accordance with the industrial park's planning, and in compliance with environmental regulations.

Leveraging the strengths of joint ventures and partnerships, we aim to attract more large investors with strong financial resources, modern technology, and environmentally friendly practices, producing high value-added products with economic efficiency to contribute more to the local budget.

In particular, investors need to share and cooperate with the local government and people in the project implementation process, and be determined to successfully achieve the set goals.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, the leaders of Quang Tri province presented a memorandum of understanding to the secondary investor and an investment certificate; and performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the project.
