The Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway Project (over 60km long) is the first section of the Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway with a length of over 200km. The project is invested by the Truong Hai - Son Hai Transport Infrastructure Development and Construction Joint Venture under the PPP (public-private partnership) - BOT (build - operate - transfer) contract with a total capital of nearly VND 8,500 billion, of which the State supports more than VND 1,600 billion in site clearance costs.

The expected construction time is 2 years and when put into operation, the expressway will reduce the load on National Highway 20, creating a breakthrough in traffic connection between Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast provinces and the Central Highlands.

The expressway is 124.13km long (the section through Dong Nai is 101km long, the section through Lam Dong is 23km long); the scale of the completed phase has 6 lanes, the roadbed width is 32.25m, the design speed is 120km/h. In the investment phase, the project is invested with a scale of 4 complete expressway lanes, the road surface width is 24.75m.

The project is invested in the form of public investment combined with the public-private partnership (PPP) method, with a total investment of about VND 25,540 billion, of which component project 1 is expected to be about VND 19,965 billion. The project preparation and implementation period is from 2025 to 2027, with a maximum payback period of 29 years and 8 months. The joint venture Vingroup - Techtra Infrastructure Investment and Development Joint Stock Company was selected as the investor to implement the project.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang emphasized that the project has strategic significance not only for Dong Nai and Lam Dong, but also for the Central Highlands and Southeast regions. The expressway will be an important connecting axis, promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and effectively linking with Ho Chi Minh City - the economic locomotive of the country. She requested investors and construction units to focus on directing resolutely, mobilizing maximum machinery and human resources, working "3 shifts, 4 shifts", during the holidays to finish ahead of schedule, ensuring quality, safety and preventing negativity and waste.
Dong Nai province commits to closely follow the progress, closely coordinate with relevant parties, contribute to removing infrastructure bottlenecks, and realize sustainable development goals according to Resolution of the 13th National Congress and the 11th Provincial Party Congress.
