Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Khanh Duong, Deputy Commander of the Ca Mau Provincial Military Command, emphasized that the project is of great importance in building a strong maritime militia force, contributing to improving command capacity, ensuring logistics and technical support, and meeting the requirements of protecting maritime sovereignty and islands in the new situation.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, Lu Quang Ngoi, delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Lu Quang Ngoi, affirmed that the investment in building a permanent militia naval squadron in Song Doc is of particular importance in the context of the increasingly demanding task of protecting maritime sovereignty and islands. The project will contribute to building a regular, progressively modern maritime militia force, capable of effectively coordinating with functional forces in patrolling, controlling, search and rescue operations, and maintaining security and order at sea.
Song Doc is a key coastal area, home to a large fishing fleet and vibrant marine economic activity. The formation of a permanent militia naval squadron will provide a solid foundation for fishermen to venture out to sea, contributing to the effective combination of marine economic development and national sovereignty protection.
The delegates performed the ritual of pressing the button to officially launch the construction project.
The project aims to enhance the capacity for managing and protecting maritime sovereignty and islands, while supporting fishermen in staying at sea and developing the economy in conjunction with ensuring national defense and security. The facility not only serves living and training purposes but also meets the logistical and technical requirements of the maritime militia force.
