On August 19, two key national projects, including the An Khanh Data Center and the Research & Development Center at the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, began construction, marking an important step forward in the country's strategy for developing technology infrastructure and scientific research.
This activity is part of a series of events to start and inaugurate 250 projects in 34 provinces/cities nationwide, with a total investment of up to 1.28 million billion VND, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

With a total investment of VND 10,000 billion on an area of 13 hectares, the Research & Development Center in Hoa Lac will complete the ecosystem of research - design - testing - production of high-tech products "Made in Vietnam". Expected to be completed in 2030, the center will focus on strategic areas such as technology for manufacturing cruise engines, UAVs, remote sensing satellites, radars for national defense; Application of artificial intelligence (AI), big data (Big Data), cloud computing in the development of equipment, software and technology platforms.
The project is designed according to international standards, integrating smart, green, sustainable elements, ensuring absolute safety and security, expected to attract about 2,500 high-quality personnel, contributing to the modernization of the army and improving national research capacity.

An Khanh Data Center is built on an area of 1.9 hectares with a total investment of VND 17,500 billion. This center has a designed capacity of 60MW and is expected to become the largest data center in the North. Phase 1 will operate from the second quarter of 2026, aiming to become a Hyperscale Data Center by 2030.
The project meets Uptime Tier III standards, integrates AI, a 5-layer security system and modern cooling technology, aiming towards the Government's Net Zero goal. This will be the core infrastructure serving national digital transformation, supporting the Government, the Ministry of National Defense and large enterprises to deploy AI and digital technology applications on a national scale.
Both projects were invested and built by Viettel Group. This is not only a symbol of modern technology and defense development, but also a sustainable foundation for future generations, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in science and technology in the international arena.
