Commencement and inauguration of 80 key national projects

Towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. This morning, the Ministry of Construction chaired and coordinated with Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and 33 provinces and cities nationwide to organize the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony of 80 key national projects and major works. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the ceremony at the central bridge point in Ho Chi Minh City. Also attending the ceremony at other bridges across the country were leaders and former leaders of the Party and State; ministries, departments, branches, and leaders of localities.

The Ha Tinh bridge point took place at Km479+300 on the North-South Expressway in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district with the opening ceremony of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang routes under the North-South Expressway Project, Eastern phase 2021 - 2025.

Attending at the Ha Tinh bridge point were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Comrade Nguyen Tuong Van, Deputy Minister of Construction; Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. On the Ha Tinh side, there were Comrade Nguyen Duy Lam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee...

Leaders of the Party, State, central and local ministries and branches attended the inauguration ceremony at the Ha Tinh bridge.

80 projects were started and inaugurated on this occasion, including 40 projects in the transport sector; 12 industrial and civil construction projects, 12 educational projects, 9 socio-cultural projects, 5 community health projects and 2 irrigation projects. Of these, 47 were inaugurated and 33 projects were started with a total investment of about 445,000 billion VND.

Along with the projects and works simultaneously started and inaugurated across the country, in Ha Tinh, the opening ceremony of two North-South Expressway component projects in the Eastern phase 2021-2025, including Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, invested by Thang Long Project Management Board, Ministry of Construction. These two projects were started in January 2023, after more than 2 years of construction, they have now been completed and officially opened; the main route is expected to be put into operation on April 28, 2025, 6 months ahead of schedule.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered an online speech at the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony of 80 key national projects from the central bridge point of Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: The inauguration and groundbreaking of the projects today are of special significance in many aspects of economy, politics, society, security - defense and international integration, contributing to creating an attractive investment environment for businesses, people, domestic and foreign investors. He commended the officials, civil servants, workers, investors, consulting units, and localities for actively innovating their thinking, ways of thinking and working, overcoming difficulties, mobilizing all resources, equipment, and machinery to put the projects into operation and effective exploitation. At the same time, he thanked the people who volunteered to give up land, move houses, relocate places of worship, and graves to implement the projects.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested: for the works and projects inaugurated on April 19, ministries, branches, localities and investors urgently organize operations and exploitation to maximize efficiency; Direct agencies and units to continue to care for the material and spiritual lives of people, especially families who have given up land for the project; make the most of the advantages of the projects to plan and promote socio-economic development of localities.

For newly-started projects, the Prime Minister requested that investors and contractors urgently mobilize human resources and machinery to implement construction, strive to complete ahead of schedule, ensure quality, avoid capital overruns, put into operation soon, and promote investment efficiency. Local authorities need to pay more attention to social housing development; strive to realize the policy of building 1 million social houses before 2030; basically complete the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025 so that all people can enjoy the joy of having a house, a stable and spacious place to live, and a peaceful life.

Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially opening the technical traffic of the two expressway sections of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, part of the North - South expressway in the East, phase 2021 - 2025, at Ha Tinh bridge.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also gave orders to start construction, inaugurate, open traffic, and close... 80 projects nationwide.
