On May 6, Tien Phong Newspaper, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province, in coordination with Tan A Dai Thanh Group, organized a groundbreaking ceremony to build a "Great Unity" house for a family in especially difficult circumstances in Nam Thai commune, An Bien district (Kien Giang).

Mr. Vo emotionally shared that his family has 6 members, his wife and 4 children, two of whom are in first grade, and the other two will be in kindergarten next year. His wife does odd jobs in the market, with an unstable income.

“Now that Tien Phong Newspaper, Tan A Dai Thanh Group, and local authorities have supported me in building a new house, I am very happy. Thank you Tien Phong Newspaper and the leaders for helping my family have a stable place to live, feel secure in doing business, and taking care of our children,” said Mr. Vo.

The program took place in the context that although the salinity intrusion did not penetrate as deeply as in previous years, drought and salinity are still a constant risk, directly affecting the lives, livelihoods and domestic water sources of people in coastal areas of the Mekong Delta.
