In anticipation of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnam Film Institute is organizing a film screening program to celebrate the Congress at Ngoc Khanh Cinema, 523 Kim Ma Street, Giang Vo District, Hanoi.

This is a cultural and political activity of profound significance, contributing to promoting the dissemination and education of revolutionary traditions, fostering ideals, and strengthening the faith of cadres, Party members, and the people in the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam .

Through the introduction and screening of representative revolutionary Vietnamese films from various periods, the program contributes to authentically and vividly recreating the arduous and heroic struggles in the cause of national liberation, reunification, and the protection of the socialist Fatherland. Each film is not only a valuable work of art but also a precious historical document, profoundly reflecting the patriotism, indomitable will, and aspirations for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people under the leadership of the Party.

Representatives from the Vietnam Film Institute stated that organizing the film screening program to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party further affirms the special role and position of cinema in the Party's ideological and cultural work, while effectively promoting the value of revolutionary cinematic heritage in contemporary life.

This is also an opportunity for audiences of all generations, especially the younger generation, to better understand the history of the nation's revolutionary struggle, thereby raising their sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting the revolutionary achievements that previous generations have painstakingly built.

Through its activities, the Vietnam Film Institute continues to uphold its role as a public institution responsible for archiving, preserving, and disseminating the national moving image heritage. At the same time, it affirms the special position and role of cinema in the Party's ideological and cultural work, contributing to the effective implementation of the Party's policies and guidelines on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people in the new era; creating spiritual motivation for cadres, Party members, and the people to actively compete and resolutely achieve the goals and tasks set forth in the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.

The film screening program to welcome the Congress will begin at 9:00 AM on January 14th with the classic feature film "Until We Meet Again," produced by the Vietnam Feature Film Studio in 1974, directed by Tran Vu, and a winner of the Golden Lotus Award at the 3rd Vietnam Film Festival. The film is a vivid portrayal of the life and fighting spirit of the people in the Northern Delta region during the resistance against French colonialism…

Next, at 7:30 PM on January 15th, the program will screen the film "August Star" (produced in 1976, directed by Tran Dac), an outstanding cinematic work that recreates the fervent atmosphere of the August Revolution of 1945, which won the Golden Lotus Award at the 4th Vietnam Film Festival.

At 7:30 PM on January 16th, the film "The 17th Parallel - Day and Night" by director and People's Artist Hai Ninh was screened. This is one of the representative works of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema, profoundly reflecting the tenacious struggle of the people of both North and South Vietnam during the years of national division. The film previously won the Soviet Peacekeeping Committee Award and the Best Actress Award for actress Tra Giang at the 8th Moscow International Film Festival in 1973.

Besides feature films, the program also introduces to young audiences and families a series of Vietnamese animated films: "The Fox Gets What He Deserves," "The Talking Magpie," "Melody," "Morning," "Bicycle," and "The Legend of the Stilt House." This series of animated films, screened at 10:00 AM on January 17th, includes works that are rich in humanistic values ​​and educational significance, contributing to nurturing the souls and character of the younger generation.

The program concludes with the film "Underground Tunnels - The Sun in the Darkness," screened at 8 PM on January 17th. This is a new revolutionary war film produced in 2025, directed by Bui Thac Chuyen. The film previously won the Silver Lotus Award at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival, a testament to the continuity and development of Vietnamese cinema in exploring historical and revolutionary themes using modern cinematic language.

With its rich content and high artistic and ideological value, the film screening program celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Party brings profound emotions to the audience, contributing to spreading national pride, arousing patriotism and civic responsibility in the new stage of the country's development.
