Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: "The festival is an opportunity for fishermen from coastal districts, towns and cities to meet, exchange experiences in production and labor; raise awareness of protecting national sovereignty and border security".
The festival takes place over 2 days, with 3 cultural activities, 3 traditional sports and 1 cultural exchange program between localities and coastal regions. During the festival, fishermen, people and artisans will participate in experiencing and performing many traditional cultural activities, such as: singing Ba Trao, Ho Ve, folk dancing, boat racing, folk games...

According to Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Binh Dinh province currently has more than 134km of coastline, stretching across 5 district-level administrative units, with many lagoons, deep-water bays, unique natural landscapes and diverse marine ecosystems. These lands are not only rich in potential for marine economy and ecotourism, but also preserve many traditional cultural values, preserved by coastal communities for many generations.

“The regular organization of the Coastal Culture and Sports Festival is not only a simple cultural exchange activity, but also part of the strategy to preserve and promote the cultural values of the sea and islands, while at the same time raising public awareness in protecting the environment, aquatic resources and national territorial sovereignty,” the Vice Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
Notably, this year, the Coastal Culture and Sports Festival opened right next to the Con Chim green eco-zone, located in the middle of Thi Nai mangrove swamp. The “green treasure” Con Chim also contains rich mangrove forests, with countless species of birds regularly residing there.

From Con Chim eco-tourism area, upstream of Kon River, there are many famous landscapes and relics, such as: Lang Song Church - one of the first Quoc Ngu printing houses in Vietnam; Banh It tower...

“The festival is also an opportunity for Binh Dinh to introduce and promote to domestic and foreign tourists the images of people, culture, famous landscapes and relics in Tuy Phuoc district. Thereby, contributing to fostering and arousing the spirit of solidarity, vitality of cultures, identities and beauty of people, the land along the lagoon and sea of Binh Dinh…”, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang emphasized.
