Foreign investors sell large stocks heavily, VN-Index still maintains the 1,500 point mark

On July 31, the market jumped nearly 20 points at the opening, but increased selling pressure caused the VN-Index to shake and reverse downwards from mid-morning. Notably, strong cash flow into small and medium-sized stocks helped the VN-Index regain the 1,500 mark at the end of the session. At the end of the session, the VN-Index fell 5.11 points to 1,502.52 points.

In this session, stocks that had a positive impact on the VN-Index included: SHB , VPB, BCM, VIX, GEX, GVR, BSR, KBC, VJC, STB with an increase of more than 6.35 points. On the contrary, stocks: VIC, VHM, VCB, VPL, TCB, VNM, HPG, FPT, MWG, BID were sold heavily and took away 11.5 points from the VN-Index.

On the HoSE floor, the matched order value this session increased compared to the previous session, reaching 41,846.23 billion VND.

Foreign investors net sold approximately VND1,919 billion on HoSE. On the buying side, VIC shares were bought the most with a value of more than VND140 billion, followed by HAH (VND89 billion), NVL (VND66 billion), HHS (VND56 billion)... On the contrary, CTG was sold the most (VND380 billion), followed by VPB (VND236 billion), FPT (VND230 billion), HPG (VND217 billion)...

Today's session, the VN30 group of stocks closed with 11 stocks increasing, 3 stocks remaining unchanged and 16 stocks decreasing.

Of which, SHB increased to the ceiling price of 17,200 VND/share, BCM increased by 3.91% to 71,700 VND/share, VPB increased by 2.18%, VJC increased by 2.11%, GVR increased by 2.03%, STB increased by 1.32%, SSB increased by 1.3%.

Codes: MBB, SAB, SSI, VIB increased slightly.

Three codes stopped at reference, including: ACB, LPB, VRE.

On the other hand, VIC decreased by 3.65% to VND 105,500/share, VNM decreased by 2.7% to VND 61,200/share, MWG decreased by 2.68%, FPT decreased by 1.98%, HPG decreased by 1.77%, VHM decreased by 1.64%, TCB decreased by 1.45%, TPB decreased by 1.26%, VCB decreased by 1.15%.

The remaining codes: BID, BVH, CTG, GAS, HDB, MSN, PLX decreased slightly.

In terms of industry groups, steel stocks were differentiated. While TLH hit the ceiling price of VND6,400/share, SMC increased by 5.18%, DTL and HMC increased slightly, HPG decreased by 1.77%, HSG decreased by 1.32%, NKG decreased by 2.12%, and VCA decreased by 1.09%.

The securities group traded very actively, closing the session up 1.85%. In addition to the above-mentioned SSI, VIX increased by 6.64%, VDS increased by 3.8%, VCI increased by 2.74%, VND increased by 1.79%, AGR increased by 1.7%, HCM increased by 1.17%, CTS, FTS, TCI increased slightly, TVS stopped at reference. On the opposite side, DSE decreased by 3%, ORS decreased by 1.8%, TVB decreased by 1.05%, APG, BSI, DSC decreased slightly.

Banking stocks closed in light green, up only 0.03%. In addition to the codes: ACB, BID, CTG, HDB, LPB, MBB, SHB, SSB, STB, TCB, TPB, VCB, VPB, VIB in the VN30 group mentioned above, other codes such as: EIB increased by 1.5%, NAB increased slightly, MSB decreased by 1.43%, OCB decreased slightly.

Meanwhile, real estate stocks closed the session in red, down 0.88%. Besides VIC and VHM mentioned above, CRE decreased by 2.56%, HDG decreased by 2.61%, NBB decreased by 2.05%, TLD decreased by 2.5%... On the other hand, some stocks increased strongly such as: AGG, DRH, HAR, HDC, PTL, SJS increased by ceiling price, CKG increased by 6.38%, DXS increased by 3.79%, KBC increased by 6.75%, SZC increased by 4.01%, VRC increased by 3.44%...

Other stock sectors such as: industrial goods increased by 1.26%, transportation increased by 1.2%, energy increased by 1.17%, and utilities increased slightly.

On the other hand, consumer services decreased by 2.79%, software and services decreased by 1.66%, telecommunications services decreased by 1.69%, insurance, raw materials, food, beverages and tobacco, and essential aviation trade decreased slightly.

* The Vietnamese stock market index today fortunately recovered at the end of the session, VNXALL-Index closed up 1.03 points (+0.04%), to 2,540.3 points. Liquidity of the whole market, with trading volume reaching 1.744 billion units, corresponding to trading value reaching 45,596.01 billion VND. In the whole market, there were 206 stocks increasing in price, 73 stocks remaining unchanged and 181 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 266.34 points, up 4.83 points (+1.85%). Liquidity reached a total of more than 195.55 million shares transferred, with a corresponding trading value of more than VND4,147.748 billion. The entire floor had 104 stocks increasing, 43 stocks remaining unchanged and 70 stocks decreasing.

The HNX30 index closed up 14.06 points (+2.49%) to 579.66 points. Trading volume reached over 139.44 million units, with a corresponding value of over VND3,496,199 billion. The HNX30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 16 stocks increasing, 1 stock remaining unchanged and 13 stocks decreasing.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM Index increased, closing at 105.79 points, up 0.68 points (+0.65%). Market liquidity, total trading volume reached more than 99.30 million shares, corresponding trading value reached more than 1,298,419 billion VND. The UPCoM group of stocks ended the trading day with 159 stocks increasing, 92 stocks remaining unchanged and 116 stocks decreasing.

* At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 5.11 points (-0.34%) to 1,502.52 points. Liquidity reached over 1.696 billion units, equivalent to a trading value of VND43,409.22 billion. The entire floor had 169 stocks increasing, 49 stocks remaining unchanged and 150 stocks decreasing.

The VN30 Index decreased by 15.55 points (-0.95%) to 1,615.23 points. Liquidity reached more than 671.58 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND20,958.09 billion. The VN30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 11 stocks increasing, 3 stocks remaining unchanged and 16 stocks decreasing.

The five stocks with the highest trading volume were SHB (over 181.31 million units), VPB (over 55.19 million units), VIX (over 54.19 million units), VND (over 52.78 million units), SSI (over 49.38 million units).

The five stocks with the highest price increase were PTL (6.98%), VSC (6.97%), PET (6.96%), AGG (6.94%), VSI (6.93%).

The five stocks with the biggest price declines were ADS (-5.64%), HRC (-5.20%), PTC (-4.16%), JVC (-3.85%), VIC (-3.65%).

* Today, derivative securities had 375,594 contracts traded, worth 60,465.34 billion VND.
