The Hai Le Industrial Cluster is thriving.

QTO - In recent years, the former Quang Tri town (now Quang Tri ward) has implemented many solutions to promote the development of industry and small-scale handicrafts, with the Hai Le Industrial Cluster being a notable highlight.

In 2011, the Hai Le Industrial Cluster was approved for construction with a total area of ​​48.9 hectares. Phase 1 of the project was implemented on a scale of 15.5 hectares. Thanks to investment attention, the infrastructure system such as roads, electricity, and conditions serving production have been built relatively synchronously, meeting the needs of businesses.

According to Mr. Vo Tuan Anh, an official at the Quang Tri Ward General Service Center, along with infrastructure improvements, the locality has implemented many policies to attract investment. As a result, six projects have registered to invest in the industrial cluster, of which four have been operating stably for many years.

The projects mainly operate in the fields of processing timber from planted forests and producing cardboard packaging, industries suitable for the local raw material conditions. The production activities of these businesses not only contribute to increasing the value of products but also create local economic linkages.

In 2025, the industrial production value at Hai Le Industrial Cluster reached 128,800 million VND, contributing 3,800 million VND to the state budget. Notably, the industrial cluster has created jobs for approximately 100 workers with an average income of 5.5 million VND per person per month.

Besides attracting investment, industrial promotion activities have also been implemented effectively. Ms. Ho Thi Lai, an officer at the General Service Center of Quang Tri Ward, said that the unit always adheres closely to the regulations and guidelines of the Central and local governments on industrial promotion. Based on practical experience, the management agency annually reviews the support needs of production facilities and conducts direct surveys to promptly identify the difficulties faced by businesses.

From there, appropriate support policies are proposed, contributing to creating favorable conditions for businesses to develop production and enhance competitiveness. At the same time, these activities also help promote the development of industry and handicrafts, create jobs and increase income for the people.

Specifically, in 2021, Thao Van Wood Processing Co., Ltd. received 77 million VND from the provincial industrial promotion fund to implement the project "Applying advanced machinery and equipment to the production of timber from planted forests". In 2022, from the national industrial promotion fund, the locality proposed supporting 300 million VND for Quang Tri Carton Packaging Joint Stock Company to implement the project "Applying advanced machinery and equipment in the production of packaging and carton boxes".

By 2023, Quang Tri Carton Packaging Joint Stock Company continued to receive support of 300 million VND to implement two projects: applying advanced machinery and equipment to the production of cardboard boxes and building a demonstration model of carton packaging production techniques.

The development of the Hai Le Industrial Cluster is not only reflected in investment and production figures but also clearly evident in the lives of the workers.

Mr. Ngo Van Chuong, a worker at Thao Van Wood Processing Co., Ltd., said that both he and his wife work at the company. He is in charge of the machinery department, while his wife works in the production workshop. Their combined monthly income is nearly 20 million VND, with him earning over 10 million VND. In addition to their salaries, employees here receive full benefits such as health insurance, personal protective equipment, and safe working conditions. Thanks to this, he feels secure and committed to his job. With this stable income, Mr. Chuong's family can afford to cover their living expenses and educate their children.

Mr. Tran Phu, a worker at Hoang Anh 2 Construction Wood Products Factory, a subsidiary of Hoang Anh Cam Lo Co., Ltd., said he is satisfied with his current job. Besides salary, bonuses, and insurance benefits, the company places special emphasis on occupational safety, environmental hygiene, and fire prevention. With an average daily income of over 250,000 VND, his monthly income is stable, ensuring a comfortable life for his family. Having a job locally also reduces commuting costs and allows him to commit to the company long-term.

From a business perspective, Ms. Ngo Thi Lieu, Director of Thao Van Wood Processing Co., Ltd., stated that the company was previously located in the former Hai Le commune, within a residential area and a landslide-prone zone. Nearly four years ago, the company relocated to the Hai Le Industrial Cluster and was allocated 7,700 square meters of land to build a factory. This relocation has facilitated the expansion of production and the creation of more jobs. With ample space, relatively complete infrastructure, and the support of the local government, the company feels confident in its long-term investment.

According to Mr. Vo Tuan Anh, Quang Tri ward will continue to implement the investment plan to complete phase 2 of the Hai Le Industrial Cluster to attract more new projects; while also focusing on fire prevention and control, upgrading transportation infrastructure, ensuring electricity supply, and waste treatment. These solutions aim to create a safe and stable production environment, helping businesses operate with peace of mind and maintain a long-term commitment to the locality.
