Domestic tourists to Phu Quoc on the occasion of April 30th holiday are showing signs of improvement

On the afternoon of April 15 , Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam - director of Tam Dang Khoa Canoe Company in An Thoi Ward (Phu Quoc City) - said that Phu Quoc is currently welcoming many international visitors, especially domestic visitors who are showing signs of recovery during the upcoming April 30 and May 1 holidays.

"Yesterday we welcomed 15 groups of domestic tourists (about 300 people) to take a canoe tour to experience the island tour, watch the sunset, swim, eat seafood and feed the fish by hand. We see that domestic tourists to Phu Quoc are showing signs of increasing positively again after a rather quiet period," Mr. Tam happily said.

Mr. Truong Cong Tam - Chairman of the Phu Quoc City Professional Tour Guide Association - shared that on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 holidays as well as the summer of 2025, domestic tourists will come to Phu Quoc more bustlingly.

According to Mr. Tam, right now, many tour guides in Phu Quoc have received many domestic tourist groups booking tours to visit famous tourist destinations on Phu Quoc Island on the occasion of April 30.

"In the summer of 2025, families will take their children on many trips. We currently see that domestic airfares to Phu Quoc are quite affordable, so domestic tourists will be able to balance their finances to choose to visit Phu Quoc," said Mr. Tam.

Green tourism Hon Son and Ha Tien will make a national flag road for visitors to take photos.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mong Quyen - Director of the Center for Investment Promotion and Tourism Trade of Ha Tien City - informed that Ha Tien tourism is well-invested and spacious with many tourist attractions such as Thach Dong, Da Dung mountain, Mui Nai beach and Ha Tien night market with a variety of cuisines imbued with Khmer - Chinese - Vietnamese culture.

"The locality has now renovated many entertainment spots, beautified the landscape and decorated the streets with red flags and yellow stars in line with the April 30th theme for visitors to take photos. We also encourage service businesses to invest, upgrade rooms, and sell at the correct listed prices to best serve tourists," Ms. Quyen emphasized.

"Domestic tourists are currently booking tours to Hon Son and Nam Du for the April 30 holiday quite well, and accommodation facilities are currently at about 60-70% occupancy," said Mr. Ly Thua Loi - deputy general director of Lien Ket Vang Tourism Service and Trading Joint Stock Company in Rach Gia City.

Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center said that Kien Giang has more than 143 large and small islands and many are famous for tourism such as Hon Son, Nam Du (Kien Hai district), Hai Tac island (Ha Tien city) and especially Phu Quoc has potential for tourism development with modern tourism service infrastructure.

The locality currently has about 1,000 establishments, with 33,000 rooms, serving many market segments for domestic and foreign tourists to choose to visit during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.
