On the afternoon of April 21, the Management Board of Oc Eo Cultural Relics in An Giang province held a conference to deploy the work of building a dossier to nominate the Oc Eo - Ba The archaeological site in An Giang province to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a World Cultural Heritage.

The conference announced the results of the bidding process and signed implementation contracts with the winning bidders for packages 3, 4, and 5, and outlined the general direction for the task of preparing nomination documents and the roadmap for preparing nomination documents for the contractors, specifically:

Package No. 3: Preparation of nomination dossier and management plan for the Oc Eo - Ba The Archaeological Site in An Giang province, to be submitted to UNESCO for recognition as a World Cultural Heritage site; Contractor: Joint Venture of the Institute of Conservation of Monuments - Center for Applied Research in Geology, Heritage and Environment (University of Social Sciences and Humanities). Estimated implementation time is 22 months, from the date of contract signing.

Package No. 4: Communication, publicity, and promotion activities for the Oc Eo - Ba The Archaeological Site (non-consulting package); Contractor name: Joint Venture of the Institute of Conservation of Monuments - Red Sun Investment, Trade and Tourism Service Joint Stock Company; Estimated implementation time: 22 months, from the date of contract signing.

Package No. 5: Demarcation and placement of boundary markers for the protection of the Oc Eo - Ba The National Special Historical Site; Contractor: Dat Viet Surveying and Mapping Consulting Joint Stock Company; Estimated implementation time: 2 months.

Nguyen Huu Gieng, Director of the Oc Eo Cultural Relics Management Board of An Giang province, suggested several issues to the contractor and the joint venture contractor, such as: Adhering closely to the ICOMOS report and planning to prepare the dossier; strictly following the documents of Louis Malleret and domestic and international experts who conducted archaeological excavations before and after 1975; especially the documents of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences on the archaeological excavation of the Oc Eo - Ba The and Nen Chua relics in 2017-2020. In addition, urgently deploying personnel to the relics to conduct surveys and complete the procedures for requesting permission for supplementary archaeological excavations; and adding information about the Nen Chua, Canh Den, and Giong Xoai relics in Kien Giang province to the dossier...

At the conference, the Management Board of Oc Eo Cultural Relics in An Giang province signed contracts with the winning bidders for packages 3, 4, and 5.
