Regarding the case of clinics profiting from insurance, on the morning of June 10, the Investigation Police Agency of Bien Hoa City ( Dong Nai ) announced that it had initiated a case, prosecuted 19 defendants and temporarily detained 18 people (allowing 1 defendant to be released on bail) to investigate the act of forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations. The above decisions were approved by the People's Procuracy of the same level on June 9.
Bien Hoa City Police have prosecuted 19 defendants in the case of insurance fraud at clinics.
Among the 19 defendants prosecuted, there are 5 doctors who are heads and deputy heads of clinics, along with 12 pharmacists, medical staff and 2 people who are "brokers" buying and selling fake documents.
According to the initial investigation, Bien Hoa City Police determined that the 19 defendants had forged more than 130,000 sick leave certificates to receive social insurance and more than 400 health examination certificates (to sell to employees, mainly workers in companies). In addition, the clinics also created records to receive health insurance settlement.
Bien Hoa City Police searched 6 clinics and seized many documents on May 30.
Previously, on May 30, Bien Hoa City Police coordinated with Dong Nai Police and Bien Hoa City People's Procuracy to simultaneously search 6 private clinics in the area to investigate the falsification of sick leave certificates to benefit from insurance at these clinics.
The Ministry of Public Security then directed Dong Nai Police to continue expanding the investigation and clarify all criminal acts of the violators for handling in accordance with the law.
