Husband prosecuted for stabbing wife seriously injured at divorce mediation hearing in Ha Tinh

On the evening of October 4, the Investigation Police Agency of Loc Ha District ( Ha Tinh ) announced that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Van Quyet (31 years old, residing in Thinh Loc Commune, Loc Ha District) for 3 months to investigate the act of intentionally causing injury.

Previously, at around 10:45 a.m. on September 29, Nguyen Van Quyet and Ms. Nguyen Thi L. (25 years old, both residing in Thinh Loc commune), who are the parties in the divorce case, came to the District People's Court to request the court to organize a mediation in the direction of allowing the parties to agree to resolve the case.

During work, the two had a disagreement. Quyet stabbed Ms. L. in the chest, causing her to fall to the floor. Then Quyet continued to stab Ms. L. in the back many times.

After committing the crime, Quyet took the car and left the scene.

The incident happened so quickly and unexpectedly that people present at the court had no time to intervene.

The authorities later arrested Quyet. Ms. L. was seriously injured and was taken to the Ha Tinh General Hospital for emergency treatment.

Currently, the police are completing the file to handle Nguyen Van Quyet according to regulations.
