Prosecution of tractor-trailer driver who caused a series of accidents involving 7 cars on Highway 51

(NLDO) - Vo Ngoc Khanh drove a tractor-trailer, causing a series of traffic accidents involving 7 cars, right on National Highway 51.


On the afternoon of December 9, Phu My Town Police ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Vo Ngoc Khanh (born in 1981, residing in Dong Nai Province) - the tractor-trailer driver who caused a series of traffic accidents, the incident occurred in Phu My Town in September 2024.

Accordingly, at around 5:00 p.m. on September 26, Khanh was driving a tractor-trailer on National Highway 51 in the direction from Dong Nai to Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

The Investigation Police Agency of Phu My Town read the order to prosecute the driver.

At Km41 + 200, National Highway 51, in Ben Dinh quarter, My Xuan ward, Phu My town, the car collided with the rear of a pickup truck traveling in the same direction ahead.

The car driven by Khanh continued to crash straight into another car, from which this car continued to impact the cars in front. There were a total of 7 vehicles damaged after this collision, the estimated damage was about 1 billion VND.

Upon receiving the report from the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu My Town coordinated with the People's Procuracy of Phu My Town and the Criminal Techniques Team to examine the scene to determine the cause of the accident.
