Attending the workshop were Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dat - Vice President of Vietnam Animal Husbandry Association, Mr. Nguyen Van May - Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and members of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Associations of provinces and cities in the Southeast region; technical managers, farm owners, livestock farmers, nutritionists, technicians in the animal feed production industry in Tay Ninh province, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Dong Nai.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van May - Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in recent years, the province's livestock industry has developed quite well, with the livestock production value increasing by an average of 6.2% per year, the proportion of livestock in the agricultural production value accounting for 17.9%, making an important contribution to the socio -economic development of the province.
The total livestock and poultry herd in the province currently has 10,000 buffaloes, 100,000 cows, 400,000 pigs and over 10,000,000 poultry.

Up to now, in the province, there are 81 livestock facilities granted VietGAHP certificates, 71 chicken, pig and cow farms granted disease safety certificates (ATDB); 2 districts (Duong Minh Chau, Tan Chau) have been certified as ATDB zones for avian influenza and Newcastle disease in chickens.
By the end of 2024, the province is expected to successfully build two disease control zones for avian influenza and Newcastle disease in Tan Bien and Go Dau districts.
According to Mr. May, disease control and prevention in livestock and poultry is extremely necessary, contributing to the work of building disease-free areas and facilities as well as disease prevention work in the province, ensuring a safe supply of livestock products for domestic consumption and export.

At the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dat - Vice President of the Vietnam Livestock Association said that with the theme "Control and prevention of diseases in broiler farms", the broiler farming workshop in Tay Ninh is the second workshop in a series of 4 livestock workshops of Vietstock. This is one of the sideline activities of the Vietstock 2024 exhibition, a forum for professionals, producers, traders, and service providers in the livestock and veterinary industry to meet, exchange information, knowledge, and experience before the exhibition.
Delegates attending the workshop also shared knowledge and practical solutions to control diseases and practical, useful experiences with the topic "Coccidiosis and effective preventive measures in broilers; current laws and regulations on anti-coccidiosis drugs".
