The general session with the main theme "Architecture - Creating sustainable spaces for the community" and 2 specialized sessions: "Developing sustainable architecture - Adapting to climate change" and "The role of materials and technology in creating living spaces".
NEED FOR PUBLIC SPACES
Participating in the scientific discussion at the conference, Master, Architect Ha Van Thanh Khuong - Director of the Department of Construction of Kien Giang province said that the development orientation of Phu Quoc city is to become a class I urban area under Kien Giang province. In a city in general like Phu Quoc city or urban areas in particular, uniform development is not only the "hardware" including infrastructure, modern highways or buildings but also public space - an important component of the urban area.
A successful and sustainable city is a city with a high-quality public space system, beautiful landscape and environmental sustainability. Therefore, the participation of the three sectors of the state, private and community in the formation of public spaces in Phu Quoc City is necessary.

Comrade Ha Van Thanh Khuong proposed 5 solutions to form public spaces with the participation of 3 sectors: state, private and community.
“The State manages, the private sector invests in construction and manages operations, the community supervises implementation, and the participating parties unify management through decisions, regulations, and management rules. Practice shows that the privatization of public spaces has received high consensus from the Government , investors, and the community. Creating resources for public spaces involves changing the mindset from “designing space” to “creating places.” It is necessary to skillfully and subtly combine different approaches to achieve optimal consensus to create the best public space projects,” said Mr. Ha Van Thanh Khuong.

Dr. Architect Nguyen Tat Thang hopes that future architects will be trained in a creative direction, combining creative ideas that integrate cultural, digital and smart technology elements, especially interactive technologies between architectural spaces and efficient energy use. Thereby, orienting architectural works towards ecology, energy saving and sustainability.
According to Master, Architect Tran Cong Duc - Director of GMP Vietnam Company, GMP International GmbH Company, providing green and sustainable architectural design solutions is increasingly important for architects in the project design process.
“The effectiveness and influence of design solutions towards green and sustainable buildings have also been demonstrated in many real projects in Vietnam. On the other hand, we also need many policies and changes in management in the future to ensure the maintenance and encouragement of design thinking towards green and sustainable values”, said Master, Architect Tran Cong Duc.
