The 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly officially opened

The 15th National Assembly held its 8th extraordinary session in 1 day to consider and decide on personnel work under the authority of the National Assembly .

The 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly opened on the morning of August 26 at the National Assembly House, Hanoi .

Before the session, National Assembly deputies observed a minute of silence to commemorate the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - an exceptionally outstanding leader, a shining example of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, a loyal and prestigious Communist Party member of the Party, a National Assembly deputy who devoted his whole life to the Fatherland and the people.

Attending the meeting were: General Secretary, President To Lam; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien.

Party and State leaders, leaders of central and local agencies... also attended.

In his opening speech, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated: Pursuant to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the National Assembly; Rules of the National Assembly Sessions and opinions of competent agencies, the 15th National Assembly held the 8th extraordinary session to consider and decide on personnel work under the authority of the National Assembly.

The session will last for one day. The National Assembly will discuss and give opinions on the dismissal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy to take on other assignments; approve the dismissal of one Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice to take on other assignments; and approve the dismissal of one Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment on leave; and dismiss one deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

The National Assembly discussed and gave opinions on the addition of 1 Deputy Prime Minister for the 15th National Assembly term; approved the appointment of 3 Deputy Prime Ministers, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, the Minister of Justice, and elected the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

The National Assembly Chairman requested that National Assembly deputies promote democracy, uphold the spirit of responsibility, consider and discuss carefully, so that the decision on personnel work is strictly ensured, in accordance with Party regulations and State laws, achieving high consensus and unity./.
