The 8th extraordinary session of the National Assembly will consider personnel work.

Accordingly, based on the provisions of the Constitution and laws, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly decided to convene the 8th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly to consider personnel matters under the authority of the National Assembly.

The session will take place in 1 day, starting at 8:00 a.m. on August 26, 2024 at the National Assembly House, Hanoi Capital.

Overview of the 7th Extraordinary Session

The 15th National Assembly has passed more than half of its term and this is the 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly. Previously, on May 2, 2024, the 7th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly took place at the National Assembly House, Hanoi to carry out the following contents: Consider the dismissal of the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term, approve the dismissal of the position of member of the National Defense and Security Council, and dismiss the duty of the 15th National Assembly deputy for Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City; Consider the dismissal of the 15th National Assembly deputy for Mr. Duong Van Thai of the National Assembly Delegation of Bac Giang Province.

After listening to the presentations and opinions of Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the National Assembly discussed, voted by secret ballot and passed: Resolution on dismissal of the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term, approval of dismissal of the position of member of the National Defense and Security Council, and dismissal of the duties of National Assembly deputy of the 15th tenure for Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue; Resolution on dismissal of National Assembly deputy of the 15th tenure for Mr. Duong Van Thai.

On the afternoon of August 23, at the 36th session, the National Assembly Standing Committee also gave opinions on personnel work before National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered the closing speech of the session.
