
Attending the ceremony on the Thai side were Second Vice President of the House of Representatives Chalad Khamchuang, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Eksiri Pintaruchi; Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; representatives of the Senate, ministries and branches. On the Vietnamese side, there were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang; Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen Dinh Hoang Linh.
The ceremony was also attended by Ambassadors, representatives of embassies of several countries, representatives of diplomatic corps and several international organizations in Thailand. In addition, the ceremony was also attended by the General Association of Vietnamese in Thailand, representatives of overseas Vietnamese from several provinces in Thailand, along with a large number of overseas Vietnamese from all provinces and cities, Vietnamese students in Thailand, and Vietnamese enterprises investing and doing business in Thailand.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Thailand Pham Viet Hung emphasized that over the past 80 years, Vietnam has gone through a journey full of hardship, sacrifice and pride. From a poor and backward country, Vietnam has risen to become a country of more than 100 million people with a GDP of 476 billion USD and a total trade turnover exceeding 786 billion USD in 2024. People's lives have been significantly improved in terms of living standards, culture and education .
According to Ambassador Pham Viet Hung, from a country that experienced many years of war, Vietnam now maintains diplomatic relations with all 193 member states of the United Nations, is a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council twice and continues to contribute to the United Nations peacekeeping operations. With the aspiration to contribute to solving global challenges, Vietnam will coordinate with United Nations agencies to host the signing ceremony and the High-Level Conference on the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi from October 25-26.

Ambassador Pham Viet Hung emphasized that despite many difficulties and challenges ahead, Vietnam is still determined to pursue the goal of "rich people, strong country, democracy, equality, civilization", building a strong, prosperous and happy country by 2045. Vietnam is determined to implement the foreign policy of "independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversifying and multilateralizing foreign relations; being a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community".
On this occasion, Ambassador Pham Viet Hung expressed his sincere gratitude to international friends and partners for their valuable support and cooperation for Vietnam.
Ambassador Pham Viet Hung expressed his honor to take on the mission in Thailand, a beautiful, hospitable country, both modern and rich in cultural traditions. The Ambassador affirmed that Thailand is a close neighbor and one of Vietnam's most important partners, both within the bilateral and ASEAN frameworks, as well as other regional and international frameworks. Vietnam and Thailand share common values and visions, and work together towards peace and prosperity.
Ambassador Pham Viet Hung believes that the people of Vietnam and Thailand, together with friends and partners of both countries, will continue to foster, expand and deepen bilateral relations within the new framework of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, thereby contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and the world.

Ambassador Pham Viet Hung and other distinguished guests raised their glasses to toast to the health of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana and the leaders of Vietnam; wished the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to continue to develop well; and wished peace, prosperity and happiness to all people of Vietnam and Thailand.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Thai Foreign Minister, Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Advisor to the Thai Foreign Minister, affirmed the deep and sustainable relationship between the two countries; stating that over the past decades, the two governments have made joint efforts to promote comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.

Emphasizing that Vietnam and Thailand have upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi said that this demonstrates the strong commitment of the two countries' leaders to deepen strategic dialogue, promote economic cooperation, as well as enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples.
According to Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, the economic cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam brings many benefits to the Mekong sub-region and the wider Southeast Asian region. Thailand and Vietnam are currently one of each other's important trade partners. Vietnam is the leading destination for Thai investors. In recent years, Vietnam has also emerged as an important investor in Thailand. This demonstrates Vietnam's achievements in economic development.

Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi affirmed that the relationship between the two peoples is the foundation of the friendship between Thailand and Vietnam. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi also mentioned the places honoring and commemorating President Ho Chi Minh in the provinces of Udon Thani, Nakhon Phanom and Phichit of Thailand.
Thailand and Vietnam will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026, marking an important milestone, said the Thai Foreign Minister Advisor. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi believes that Thailand and Vietnam will continue to write new chapters of success and cooperation, promoting peace, prosperity, and sustainable growth of the two countries, their peoples, and the Southeast Asian region.

At the ceremony, delegates visited the exhibition of paintings and photos depicting the historical journey and cultural beauty of Vietnam; enjoyed art performances with traditional and modern melodies and dances. Guests also enjoyed performances of the monochord with special songs such as: Beo dat may troi, Viet Nam que huong toi, Ly ngua o. On this occasion, dozens of Vietnamese dishes prepared by chefs from Vietnam were served to guests right at the ceremony.
