Expectations for Doc Da Trang Industrial Park

On the afternoon of April 2, the Provincial People's Committee and Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company jointly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Doc Da Trang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project. Attending the ceremony were: Nguyen Khac Dinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mai Van Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Ha Quoc Tri - Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee; Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office. On the side of Khanh Hoa province, attending the ceremony were: Nguyen Khac Toan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Agencies; Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Tran Thu Mai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Agencies; Members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of departments, branches and sectors. On the investor side, there were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - General Director of Viglacera Corporation - JSC; Nguyen The Phong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company.

Will create new growth poles

According to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, Khanh Hoa province has been oriented to develop towards the goal of becoming a modern industrial center of the South Central region, associated with digital transformation and green economic development. In particular, Van Phong Economic Zone (EZ) with an area of 1,500 km ² is the nucleus of economic growth, the industrial - urban - service center of the South Central region. Therefore, when the Doc Da Trang Industrial Park Project (with an area of 288 hectares), with a total investment of more than 1,807 billion VND is implemented in Van Hung commune (Van Ninh district) and Ninh Tho commune (Ninh Hoa town), it is expected to create another growth pole for Van Phong EZ.

Central leaders, provincial leaders and investors pressed the button to break ground on the project.

According to the investor, Doc Da Trang Industrial Park focuses on multi-industry, modernity, attracting large-scale investors, with the criteria of rapid growth, sustainable development and environmental friendliness. The industrial park prioritizes the development of electronics, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, supporting industries, new materials, clean energy, renewable energy, smart energy, processing and manufacturing industries, etc.

The investor signs a commitment with the secondary investor.

Mr. Tran Xuan Hung - Director of Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company committed that after the groundbreaking ceremony, the company will focus all resources on building synchronous and modern technical infrastructure on schedule. When the project is completed, it will be synchronized with neighboring projects in Van Phong Economic Zone, improving the landscape in the area, creating a favorable investment environment to contribute to the local budget. At the same time, the project will create jobs for about 16,000 direct workers in the industrial park, leading to the need to develop various types of services. From there, it will create more jobs, improve income and quality of life for the people.

Government accompanies businesses

This is the first industrial park in the province to start construction after the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 and the Adjustment of the General Planning for the Construction of Van Phong Economic Zone to 2040, with a vision to 2050 were approved. The project is expected to generate revenue for the state budget; create momentum for the development of the province's industry, attract investors to Van Phong Economic Zone; contribute to accelerating the process of economic restructuring of the province towards industrialization and modernization; contribute greatly to the socio-economic development of the province in general and Van Phong Economic Zone in particular; help the province realize the goals in Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh presented gifts to the investor.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan said: "The Provincial People's Committee will always accompany and support investors to remove obstacles to soon put the project into operation. With the determination of the investor, the support of the Government, ministries, central branches and local authorities, we believe that the project will soon be completed and officially put into operation, bringing benefits to businesses as well as the province". On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan requested the investor to focus resources and urgently carry out the work according to the registered schedule. The Management Board of Van Phong Economic Zone, Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee, Van Ninh District People's Committee and relevant agencies and units regularly coordinate and support the investor to speed up site clearance; remove difficulties and obstacles in the project implementation process, aiming to put the project into operation in area 1 (100 hectares) in 2026.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of Khanh Hoa province, ministries, sectors and investors in implementing the industrial development strategies of the country, region and locality. In order for the Doc Da Trang Industrial Park Project to be implemented on schedule and achieve the expected results, the Deputy Prime Minister requested investors to promote available resources, focus on investment and construction to soon put the project into operation. “Industrial parks must be smart, modern and sustainable, forming industrial - innovation - urban - service - high-tech ecosystems; ensuring harmonious development with the community, infrastructure and knowledge-based economic development for the locality. Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee as well as relevant ministries and branches support investors to complete the project; guide investors to properly carry out investment, construction and environmental procedures and proactively carry out inspection and supervision work, support investors to promptly resolve difficulties and problems in the process of project implementation,” Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh requested.

In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh also requested the province to ensure resettlement for people affected by the project to have a better new life; have a plan to change occupations for affected households; have a policy to guide training of local human resources, prioritize job creation for local people when the project is implemented, as well as secondary projects later. For secondary projects of the industrial park, it is necessary to invest in advanced, environmentally friendly machinery, equipment, and technology with high intellectual content and added value, in line with the potential, strengths and industrial development orientation of the province; attract investment projects in line with the regional development orientation and regional linkages between the North Central and Central Coast regions. After the completion of Doc Da Trang Industrial Park, secondary investors need to prioritize increasing the localization rate, developing supply chains with the participation of Vietnamese enterprises.
