The Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) has just continued to reduce deposit interest rates, thereby becoming the first bank to adjust deposit interest rates for the second time since the beginning of May.

According to the online interest rate table just updated by MB, bank interest rates for terms from 1-11 months have decreased by 0.2%/year; bank interest rates for terms from 12-60 months have decreased by 0.1%/year.

With the above reduction, the latest online savings interest rates announced by MB are as follows:

The interest rate for 1-month savings is 3.5%/year, 2-month savings is 3.6%/year, 3-5 month savings is 3.8%/year. Online savings interest rates for 6-11 month terms have dropped to 4.4%/year; savings interest rates for 12-18 month terms have left the 5%/year mark and are currently listed at 4.9%/year.

Meanwhile, the highest deposit interest rate announced by MB is 5.8%/year for deposit terms from 24-60 months.

Previously, on May 7, MB reduced deposit interest rates by 0.2%/year for terms from 1-5 months.

Although it has reduced deposit interest rates twice since the beginning of May, MB continues to offer 0.2%/year interest rate for depositors with terms of 1-5 months under the savings program "April Unification, Full Joy", applied from April 22 to May 31.

Therefore, from now until the end of May, the interest rate for 1-5 month term deposits at MB is still 0.2%/year higher than the normal interest rate. In particular, the interest rate for 1- and 2-month term deposits is 3.7% and 3.8%/year, respectively; the interest rate for 3-5 month term deposits is 4%/year.

Although adjusting online deposit interest rates, MB still maintains counter deposit interest rates.

This bank applies a tiered deposit interest rate policy for individual customers who deposit savings at the counter, according to two limits: Under 1 billion VND and from 1 billion VND or more.

For savings interest rates under 1 billion VND for individual customers receiving interest at the end of the term, the bank interest rate for a 1-month term is 3.2%/year; a 2-month term is 3.3%/year; a 3-5 month term is 3.6%/year; a 6-11 month term is 4.2%/year; a 12-18 month term is 4.85%/year and a 24-60 month term is 5.7%/year.

Interest rates for deposits of VND1 billion or more, with terms from 1 to 11 months, are 0.1% higher per year than the interest rates applied to deposits of less than VND1 billion. For terms from 12 to 18 months, the interest rates differ by 0.05% per year, while interest rates for terms from 24 to 60 months have no difference.
