Lam Dong province is urgently deploying central parking lots.

On August 7-8, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee held a working session with departments, agencies, and local authorities regarding the plan to build a system of bus stations and parking lots, and to study the investment in smart parking lots in the central area.

Currently, the land allocated for parking lots in the central administrative area of Lam Dong province is only over 9 hectares, while the number of vehicles, especially private cars, is constantly increasing, putting great pressure on transportation infrastructure – especially in the central area during peak tourist season.

Previously, in 2023, the Provincial People's Committee approved the detailed planning for two large parking lot projects aimed at reducing congestion in Da Lat's inner city. However, to date, neither project has been implemented.

Specifically: The parking lot at the beginning of Prenn Pass (Hiep Thanh commune) has a scale of 38.2 hectares, with a capacity of approximately 790 buses, 122 minibuses, 200 taxis, etc., connecting to National Highway 20; The parking lot combined with a bus station at the Darahoa intersection (Lac Duong commune) has a scale of 36.69 hectares, serving 817 buses and 83 minibuses, connecting to National Highway 27C. The total capacity of the two parking lots is approximately 2,000 vehicles.

During the meeting, the province also reviewed the land resources in the wards of Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Lang Biang - Da Lat, and Xuan Truong - Da Lat to guide the development of smart parking lots, meeting the increasing demand for parking.

Currently, the entire central area has only 3 bus terminals, 23 public parking lots, and approximately 40 internal parking lots, with a total area of over 9.28 hectares. Of these, the Da Lat Interprovincial Bus Terminal, invested in by Phuong Trang Da Lat Co., Ltd., is the largest, covering 14,500 m², with 63 fixed interprovincial and intraprovincial routes, averaging 355 departures per day. It is already showing signs of overload, especially during peak tourist season.
