On April 6th, the Department of Internal Affairs of Lam Dong province announced that it had submitted a proposal to the Provincial People's Committee regarding the regulation of the number of deputy directors and equivalent positions in specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee.
According to this agency, following the reorganization, the province established 14 specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee, and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also signed decisions appointing deputy heads for these departments.
According to current regulations, the maximum number of deputy directors and equivalent positions in Lam Dong province is 73. However, the actual number is currently 101, exceeding the limit by 28. Therefore, Lam Dong province will consider reducing the number of deputy directors by 28.
The Lam Dong Department of Internal Affairs believes that the number of deputy heads in each department should be calculated based on the organizational scale, scope of management, allocated staffing, workload, and complexity of the area of responsibility.
Departments that manage multiple sectors and have a large workload should have a higher-than-average number of deputy heads.
Conversely, departments with fewer specialized areas or those that have transferred some functions and responsibilities to other units will have lower-level positions.
Specifically, the Department of Internal Affairs proposed appointing a maximum of 7 deputy directors for 3 departments: Agriculture and Environment, Finance, and Construction. These departments are considered to have a wide scope of management, numerous tasks, and are related to many important sectors of the province.
Additionally, the Provincial People's Committee Office and the Department of Internal Affairs are proposed to have a maximum of 6 deputy heads each. The 6 units including the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Health, the Department of Education and Training, and the Provincial Inspectorate are allocated a maximum of 5 deputy heads.
The Department of Justice and the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion each have 4 deputy directors, while the Department of Foreign Affairs has 2 deputy directors. Under this plan, the total number of deputy directors will be set at 73/73.
