Enriching the traditional relationship, friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Kuwait

At the reception, Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Hieu congratulated and welcomed the Ambassador's outstanding activities since he took office in Vietnam.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to further promote the traditional relationship, good friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Kuwait, one of Vietnam's leading economic partners in the Middle East. In 2022, Vietnam - Kuwait trade turnover reached 6.64 billion USD, up 39% compared to 2021.

With the advantage of the two countries' complementary economies, Vietnam and Kuwait have many favorable conditions to enhance cooperation in the coming time in potential areas such as economics, energy, trade, investment, labor, tourism ...

Speaking at the reception, Ambassador Yousef Ashour Al-Sabbagh congratulated Vietnam on electing the President, highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements in national construction and development, and affirmed his wish for the two sides to strengthen coordination to deepen traditional relations and maximize cooperation potential.

On that basis, the two sides discussed and agreed on directions and measures to promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time such as: increasing delegation exchanges at all levels, promoting the implementation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the Joint Committee, Political Consultation, coordinating and supporting each other at international forums and organizations, improving the effectiveness of investment cooperation, and continuing to perfect the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
