The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 has just passed one of YouTube's most famous durability tests, conducted by Zack Nelson, the man behind the JerryRigEverything channel. In the video , Samsung's latest foldable device is subjected to a series of rigorous tests, including bending, scratching, and exposure to dust.

Surprisingly, the Galaxy Z Fold7 not only survived the manual bending test but also functioned normally after being subjected to strong force. The screen was clear, the hinge did not deform, and the device remained functional. This is a clear testament to the breakthrough in design and durability of the Korean manufacturer's foldable phone line.

Nelson calls the Z Fold7's durability "black magic," emphasizing that the ultra-thin design does not mean low durability. In the dust resistance test, despite only being IP48 rated, the Galaxy Z Fold7 was still undamaged after being exposed to a large amount of dust and debris. The hinge and screen worked smoothly, with no signs of jamming.

However, Samsung’s device still has an inherent weakness. The outer display, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, suffered light scratches at level 6 and deep grooves at level 7 on the Mohs scale. Meanwhile, the inner display began to scratch at level 2, which means it can be damaged by fingernails or soft objects like pencil tips. This may be why the Korean manufacturer is including a free screen protector with customers during the first year of use.

Still limited, the Galaxy Z Fold7 has improved a lot compared to the previous generation. Samsung achieved a slim design in the foldable phone segment and is more durable. This is an inherent weakness of this product line.
