" I WAS SO SILENT THAT I STOPPED WHEN STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLUE LAND"
Despite being famous people in the Indian film industry, the SILAA film crew members were still surprised when they arrived in Quang Tri , where they were welcomed with flowers, banners and solemn ceremonies at Dong Hoi airport on the morning of July 30.
In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation received an official courtesy reception at the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, chaired by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan; in the evening there was an impressive welcome gala.
Producer Rahul Bali shared that he was very impressed with the majestic and amazing natural landscape of the cave and the friendliness of the local people. He appreciated the enthusiastic support of the government and believed that the film would contribute to bringing the image of Vietnam to the world through the lens of Bollywood cinema.

Meanwhile, lead actor Harshvardhan Rane revealed that one of the reasons for accepting the role in the film was because he was overwhelmed when he saw Son Doong through images. He wanted to bring this natural beauty closer to Indian and international audiences. Furthermore, another member of the crew who visited Son Doong last year also shared: "My heart stopped beating when I stood in the middle of Son Doong."
To match the scale of the setting, the film SILAA was invested with up to 4 million USD, belonging to the action-romance genre, combining love, revenge and eye-catching action scenes. The film was directed by famous director Omung Kumar, with the 2 main roles played by stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sadia Khateeb.
The crew will film at many locations in Vietnam such as Quang Tri, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City. Particularly in Quang Tri, from August 1, key filming scenes will take place at Son Doong, Tan Hoa, Tu Lan, Hang Tien, Phong Nha, expected to last until August 14.
SEIZE THE PROMOTION OPPORTUNITY
During the reception, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: Quang Tri always welcomes international filmmakers and is ready to provide maximum support for filming projects to proceed smoothly. "We are committed to creating the best conditions for the SILAA team to complete the film, bringing the beauty of Quang Tri with its heroic memories and majestic nature to global audiences," he said.
Mr. Nguyen Chau A, General Director of Oxalis Adventure, the exclusive operator of the Son Doong discovery tour and also the film's sponsor, said that the film crew had about 80 people. Of which, the filming crew at Son Doong and En caves consisted of 12 people, working for 4 days mainly on beautiful scenes, not action scenes.
In addition to Son Doong, the crew also filmed at Tan Hoa Tourist Village, Hang Tien, Tu Lan and Phong Nha Cave for about a week. After that, they returned to India to complete other scenes before returning to Vietnam in October, continuing to film in Ninh Binh, Cao Bang, Ha Long, Hoi An, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Mr. A, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Tri province and related businesses have negotiated to sponsor the film crew with the hope of benefiting from the promotional effect. "In the agreement, the SILAA crew committed to making a video promoting Vietnam tourism and integrating it when organizing a press conference to promote the film. In particular, there will be a 40-second clip promoting Vietnam tourism shown before the film at 1,000 theaters in India, a step forward that the film Kong: Skull Island (partly filmed in Vietnam) had not achieved before. The Kong film only allowed the promotional clip to be shown in theaters in Vietnam but not in theaters in the US," Mr. A emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Chau A said that over the years, cinema has proven to be a great contributor to attracting tourists to places where scenes are filmed. As a specific example, he informed that the film SILAA is expected to be released globally in 2026. In India, it will be shown in about 1,000 theaters with an estimated audience of about 8 million people, and the film's images will be widely introduced on digital platforms and media in India (a market with 300 million international tourists/year).
However, Mr. A also believes that simply putting Son Doong on film is not enough. The scarcity and class of Son Doong must go hand in hand with a professional promotional strategy. "The locality needs to be ready in terms of marketing, from websites, promotional clips, social media, so that when audiences search after watching the film, we are ready," he said.
According to Mr. A, the Son Doong discovery tour is currently one of the most sought-after tourism products in the world, where visitors have to wait up to 2 years to have the opportunity to set foot in the cave. With the strategic handshake between Bollywood cinema and Vietnam tourism, Quang Tri has a golden opportunity to bring Son Doong and Phong Nha - Ke Bang to millions of hearts.
