In recent years, tourism has been affirmed by Lam Dong province as a bright spot in the province's socio-economic development. Infrastructure has received investment attention; many new products and services have been added such as: adventure tourism, agriculture, cultural heritage...
National and international cultural, sports and tourism events have become the local brand such as: Da Lat Flower Festival, Vietnam Brocade Culture Festival, International Volcanic Cave Conference, National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence"... Air traffic has developed strongly with many new routes, promoting regional connectivity. In particular, the title of Creative City of Music that UNESCO has given to Da Lat has opened up more opportunities to promote the development of cultural and artistic tourism.
In addition, the work of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the nation is focused. Some traditional art forms that are at risk of being lost are restored, promoting their values in association with the development of community tourism. The whole province currently has 140 relics of all kinds, of which 3 are special national relics, 57 national relics, 80 provincial relics, creating a huge potential for cultural tourism. In particular, Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark with 3 unique tourist routes has become an important highlight, contributing to the diversification of cultural and ecological tourism products.
The movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” has developed extensively. Most communes, wards and towns have cultural institutions and community centers. Sports and physical training activities have developed strongly in both mass movements and high achievements; the number of medals won by athletes has increased rapidly over the years, from 31 medals in 2021 to 330 medals in 2025.

Services and tourism - key economic sectors
Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 determined to develop services and tourism into a spearhead economic sector, and at the same time proposed tasks and solutions to focus on implementation.
Accordingly, the province focuses on restructuring the service and tourism sectors, creating new growth drivers, prioritizing the development of new, high-quality tourism types, applying digital technology such as: agricultural tourism, music, adventure, sports, resort, medical, cultural, sea tourism... Attracting investment in urban - commercial - service - tourism complex projects, high-end resorts; building strategies to attract investment in developing key tourist areas and destinations such as Mui Ne National Tourist Area, Tuyen Lam Lake, Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark, Ta Dung landscape, Phu Quy special zone... is promoted.
The locality focuses on attracting domestic and international tourists, especially tourists from Europe, the Russian Federation, North America, the Middle East, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia. Key projects related to the development of cultural industries, ensuring security, safety, environmental sanitation, and preserving the image and culture of Lam Dong people... to build Lam Dong into a high-quality tourism center of the country are of interest.
At the same time, the province focuses on expanding trade based on close links with the key economic zones in the South, the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands, striving to turn Lam Dong into a center for production and distribution of agricultural products, processed seafood and products with strengths to serve domestic consumption and export. The locality continues to expand the market, develop brands and geographical indications "Da Lat - Miraculous crystallization from the good land"; promote the export of key products such as: aluminum, coffee, tea, silk, vegetables, flowers, specialty fruits... to Japan, Korea, China, the US, Europe and the Middle East.
Lam Dong continues to diversify business forms, invest in commercial infrastructure, form flower trading centers, exhibition centers in Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Gia Nghia, Bao Loc; develop night economy in major tourist cities. The province also prioritizes the development of logistics centers in Duc Trong, Ward 3 Bao Loc and international seaports Vinh Tan, Son My, contributing to completing the sustainable tourism - trade - service value chain.

Former Vice Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh said that the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term identified services and tourism as a very successful spearhead economic sector. Because the new Lam Dong has many outstanding advantages in terms of geographical location, resources and cultural identity. Located in the expanded Central Highlands, Lam Dong plays the role of a bridge between East - West - South - North, creating favorable conditions for trade and socio-economic development. The temperate climate, fertile land, rich biodiversity and many cultural and natural heritages of national and international significance are important foundations for the province to strongly develop types of tourism such as resort, ecological, and experience. In particular, the harmonious combination of forest and sea, between nature and people, creates a unique feature of the new Lam Dong. “Lam Dong is a new opportunity - an attractive destination for investors, opening up a space for dynamic and sustainable development in the economy, society and tourism in the new period,” affirmed Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh.
To put the resolution into practice, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the industry is concretizing the targets of the Provincial Party Congress Resolution for the 2025 - 2030 term with clear action plans and roadmaps. On that basis, each field of culture, sports, tourism... will have a detailed plan, linked to the goal of sustainable development, taking the core values of culture, tourism, and sports as the center of promotion. Enterprises will be the nucleus in the development process. The industry will be the bridge between the State, the People, the community, and enterprises to create a combined strength, ensuring synchronous and sustainable development and bringing benefits to the community.
According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the set targets will have a long-term vision, harmoniously exploiting the natural, cultural and human values of Lam Dong. The industry also identifies tourism as a key economic sector, and the cultural industry will become an important driving force, contributing to the province's development commensurate with the potential and position of a large province. One of the key directions is to promote the application of information technology and digital transformation throughout the industry. "Culture needs to be digitally transformed, tourism also needs to be digitally transformed and sports need to be digitally transformed even more. The industry will expand policies to attract tourists, build a sustainable market, and contribute to improving the service quality and competitiveness of Lam Dong tourism," said Ms. Ngoc.
