Vietnam excelled in winning two Gold Medals at the International Badminton Tournament

On the afternoon of November 2, at the Bac Ninh Provincial Sports Stadium (Southern urban area, Bac Giang ward), the final matches and award ceremony of the "Felet Vietnam International Series 2025" International Badminton Tournament took place.

The Vietnamese delegation participated in 4/5 final events including men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles and women's doubles; excellently won 2 Gold Medals in men's singles and women's singles.

The opening match was the mixed doubles final between Surasit Ariyabaraneekul – Atitaya Povanon (Thailand) and Loh Ziheng – Noragilah Maisarah (Malaysia). The match was exciting with many beautiful shots. The two pairs competed closely from the start, constantly exchanging points, demonstrating technique and coordination. After three dramatic rounds, Malaysia showed their mettle and ability to break through at decisive moments, taking advantage of their opponents' mistakes to win 2-1 overall, excellently winning the Gold Medal in the mixed doubles event.

The women's singles final between Vu Thi Trang (Vietnam) and Tonrug Saeheng (Thailand) presented the audience with many beautiful plays. After winning by a narrow score of 21-19 in the first set, Trang faced a fierce counterattack from her opponent in the second set. The two players chased each point, demonstrating tenacious play and flexible tactics. Despite great efforts, Vu Thi Trang lost 18-21, bringing the match into the deciding set. In the third set, with her courage and extensive experience, the Vietnamese player took the initiative and continuously led the points. Although her opponent had great physical strength and sometimes fought back strongly, her delicate shots and accurate counterattacks helped Vu Thi Trang quickly regain the game. The Thai player received a yellow card for arguing with the referee. Maintaining her form, Vu Thi Trang won 21-11, ending the match with a score of 2-1, bringing home the Gold Medal for the Vietnamese team.

The men's singles final between Le Duc Phat (Vietnam) and Jewel Angelo Albo (Philippines) clearly demonstrated the level and bravery of two excellent players. Right from the first set, the match was a tug-of-war as both players continuously chased each point. With the ability to skillfully control the ball and flexible handling, the Filipino player took advantage of the opportunity to win 21-15. In the second set, Le Duc Phat adjusted his tactics appropriately, proactively accelerating with powerful smashes, alternating with skillful ball control, making his opponent confused in defense. Flexible playing style and determined fighting spirit helped the Vietnamese player regain balance with a score of 21-13. In the deciding set, the two players continued to chase each other breathlessly. Although his opponent started well and took an early lead, Le Duc Phat quickly caught up, played calmly and persistently counterattacked. His tricky shots and steady composure helped him make a spectacular breakthrough, ending the third set with a 21-15 victory. With a final score of 2-1, Le Duc Phat brilliantly defeated his opponent from the Philippines, bringing home the Gold Medal in the men's singles for the Vietnamese team.

The women's doubles final between Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan - Than Van Anh (Vietnam) and Kim Ha Na - Jeon Jui (Korea) took place at a fast pace. In the first set, the Korean pair showed their ability to coordinate well, move flexibly and attack accurately, quickly winning 21-12. In the second set, Kim Ha Na and Jeon Jui continued to maintain their dominance when they quickly took the lead. However, the two Vietnamese players played with great effort, persistently chasing with powerful smashes and solid defense, tying the score in the final points. The match became dramatic when the Korean pair took advantage of their opportunities in the decisive points, winning narrowly 22-20, winning 2-0 overall and winning the Gold Medal.

The men's doubles final between Faizal Pangestu - Anju Siahaan (Indonesia) and Nguyen Dinh Hoang - Tran Dinh Manh (Vietnam) brought the audience thrilling matches until the last minute. In the first half, both sides entered the match on equal footing, fiercely chasing each point. However, with the ability to coordinate well and attack sharply, the Indonesian pair gradually created a gap and won 21-18. In the second half, the Vietnamese players adjusted their tactics, played more confidently and proactively, and their resilient spirit helped Hoang - Manh advance, even though their opponents kept close. In the tense match, Indonesia made a number of mistakes, creating opportunities for Vietnam to win a thrilling 23-21, tying the score at 1-1. The deciding half saw a strong comeback from Indonesia. They quickly regained their form, taking advantage of their experience and speed to overcome, closing the match with a 21-12 victory. In the end, Faizal Pangestu - Anju Siahaan won 2-1, winning the Gold Medal in the men's doubles event for the Indonesian team.

The “Felet Vietnam International Series 2025” badminton tournament took place from October 28 to November 2 at the Bac Ninh Provincial Sports Stadium. The tournament attracted 253 players from 18 countries and territories, competing in 5 categories: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The Vietnamese team participated with 87 athletes and coaches. The tournament contributed to promoting the sports movement, including badminton, and improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people of Bac Ninh province.
