Don't regret it: Parents remarry, are children a barrier or a bridge?

That is the story that makes the audience ponder in the episode "Choosing a husband for mom" in the series "Don't regret". The film has the participation of actors Huynh Phu, My Phuc, Ngoc Han and Nhat Vy. "Choosing a husband for mom" brings a profound message: Is the love of a child for a mother a protection, or does it unintentionally become a selfish wall that prevents the mother from reaching late happiness?

The story revolves around Mrs. Mai, a widow for many years, who chooses to live for her only daughter, Nhi. Their life would have passed peacefully if it weren’t for the appearance of Mr. Thang – her late husband’s best friend. Mr. Thang, with his sincerity and perseverance, has quietly helped the mother and daughter for a long time.

And then, what had to happen happened. When Mrs. Mai's heart once again fluttered and she decided to open her heart, she encountered the biggest "barrier" - Nhi - the daughter she loved dearly.

Nhi strongly objected. In her eyes, her mother's move towards another man was a "betrayal" of her love for her deceased father. She could not accept a stranger entering the house that belonged only to her father, mother and her. Nhi's love at this moment unintentionally turned into selfishness, an invisible barrier preventing her mother from reaching late happiness.

However, thanks to advice from a close friend, Nhi looked back: "Mothers also have the right to be happy." But the biggest reason was probably when Mrs. Mai suddenly suffered a stroke. In the emergency, the person who was on duty to take care of and worry about Mrs. Mai more than her daughter was Mr. Thang. The episode ended with the "healing" smiles of all three people, when Nhi proactively welcomed Mr. Thang. This is not only the ending of a movie, but also a profound reminder for the younger generation: Don't wait until you regret to realize the good things around you. True love is not holding on, but having the courage to take a step back, learning to let go of your ego, so that the person you love can live fully with the happiness they choose.
