On the evening of June 19, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a meeting with news agencies and newspapers to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Speaking at the meeting, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense, reviewed the history of Vietnam's revolutionary press in general and military press in particular.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized the role of the press in the cause of national liberation and building and defending the Fatherland: "For us, in war, it is guns, bullets, and destroying the enemy. As for you, comrades, with cameras, video cameras, pens, and brushes, you also volunteer to go forward... And we call this force the 'special force'".

General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and thanked the press agencies for publishing and broadcasting many news and articles reflecting the contributions of military officers and soldiers, militia and self-defense forces during their participation in training and parades at the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South, and National Reunification...

According to the Minister of National Defense, propaganda work has directly contributed to promoting, protecting and enhancing the image, prestige and position of the Army, spreading the qualities, values ​​and fine traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

The country is preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2, which also marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

General Phan Van Giang said he will invite some friendly countries to participate in the parade. Although the number is not large, this will be a mark affirming that Vietnam is a country respected and admired by friends around the world.
