Outstanding photographs depicting the coal industry and miners are on display at the exhibition " Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group: 30 Years of Construction, Innovation, and Development" at 3 Duong Dinh Nghe Street, Hanoi. This is the successful result of a three-month competition of the same name.

The competition, professionally sponsored by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, received 1,675 entries after more than three months of launching, including 1,563 single photos and 112 photo sets from 146 authors. The judging panel selected 88 outstanding works for exhibition, including 11 winning entries from the "TKV - 30 Years of Construction, Innovation and Development" photo contest.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan, Chief of the Office of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV) and Head of the Organizing Committee of the photo contest, said: "The entries and winning works on display not only depict the beauty of the labor of cadres and workers in the coal industry but also truthfully reflect the Group's continuous efforts in building, innovating, and developing sustainably. At the same time, they affirm TKV's position as one of the pillars ensuring national energy security and its role in the country's development."

Photographer Vu Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Art Council of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, and Chairman of the Judging Panel, highly appreciated the results of the competition, with many new and distinctive works about one of the country's key economic sectors, including coal, electricity, minerals, mining chemicals, and mechanical engineering. The competition attracted thousands of participants nationwide. The winning works depicted the most beautiful moments in production, truthfully reflecting production and business activities; labor safety; cultural and spiritual life; cultural and sports movements; and the care for the lives of employees of the Group, as well as the joyful and enthusiastic working atmosphere of TKV's cadres, workers, and employees.

In the final results, TKV awarded 1 first prize to the work "Cargo Leaving the Port" by author Ho Xuan Dung from Cua Ong Coal Sorting Company; 2 second prizes to the works "Miners Surpassing a Century" by Pham Manh Hung and "Semi-Professional Mine Rescue Technical Competition - TKV" by Vu Tien Dung; 3 third prizes to " Medical Duty in the Mine" by Duong Phuong Dai, "Portrait of a Welder" by Nguyen Phuc Anh and "Everyday Work" by Ngoc Nhu Hai; and 5 consolation prizes.
Photographer Pham Manh Hung, a member of the Quang Ninh Association of Literature and Arts, said: "The subject of miners is not familiar to me, but I still created and submitted my works to the competition. It was a pleasant surprise when my photo series was selected for the exhibition and awarded a prize. It's even more special that it was exhibited in October to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi."

According to experts, the photo contest "Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group, 30 Years of Construction, Innovation and Development" was a great success, attracting a large number of photographers from many provinces and cities nationwide, as well as officials and workers from TKV units who love photography. Through this, it depicted and disseminated beautiful images and moments in labor and activities in various production fields of TKV, enhancing the rich cultural and spiritual life of miners. It was one of the meaningful events in the series of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Coal Corporation, the predecessor of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group, on October 10th (1994-2024).
