Hat Mon Commune is considered a pioneer in implementing the Contest "Keeping village roads, alleys, hamlets, villages, and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe". There, the local government identified propaganda and mobilization of people to participate in the implementation as the core factor.
Typically, people in village 1 bought 60 trash cans worth 9 million VND; village 9 contributed to buy 50 trash cans worth 7.5 million VND; village 4 replanted a flower road worth 2 million VND; village 5 mobilized resources to plant shade trees in the area of the commune's Cultural - Sports Center worth 150 million VND. Up to now, 7 main roads in the commune have been planted with typical flowers.
Meanwhile, in Vong Xuyen commune, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Thang said that there are currently 3 main flower roads: Provincial Road 418, 2km long; Vong Xuyen - Long Xuyen route, 1.5km long, Phuc Trach - Sen Phuong route, 400m long, and the rose road on Provincial Road 417, 200m long. In addition, in the villages of Vong Xuyen commune, there are also flower roads cared for and managed by the Women's Union.
Recent records show that not only in Hat Mon and Vong Xuyen communes, but also in most communes and towns in Phuc Tho district have actively participated in the contest "Keeping village roads, alleys, hamlets, villages, and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe". Especially diversifying the forms of implementation.
For example, in many communes and towns, they have implemented dredging of sewers, ponds, and stagnant water; clearing tree banks, bushes, and collecting trash from water surfaces and public places; vacant land has been cleared and cleaned, and there is a weekly garbage collection schedule... The government has promoted the people not to take garbage out before the scheduled collection time.
Communes and towns have also directed villages and residential groups to review and remove old, damaged, or improperly hung propaganda and advertising signs; at the same time, update and replace propaganda signs in a timely manner...
For a green Phuc Tho district
Along with communes and towns, socio-political organizations also actively participated in and enthusiastically responded to the Contest "Keeping village roads, alleys, hamlets, villages, and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe". Typically, the District Women's Union promoted the role of women members at all levels in building the model "Green Fields without 3 Nos"; the results were over 1 ton of pesticide shells, linon bags, and over 34 tons of weeds and trash, contributing to ensuring environmental sanitation in the fields.
The District Youth Union mobilizes youth union members to build and maintain models of “bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe” self-managed youth roads. Launch and organize youth projects such as “Mural Road”, “Youth Tree Row”…
To improve the effectiveness of the Contest "Keeping village roads, alleys, hamlets, villages, and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe", in addition to promoting information, propaganda, and mobilizing people to join hands in protecting the landscape and environment, Phuc Tho district has organized inspections of the organization, implementation, and results of participation in the Contest in communes and towns.
Through the monitoring work, members of the Organizing Committee have made suggestions and comments for communes and towns to strengthen environmental sanitation, improve urban and rural landscapes; plant flowers and trees on roads; clear tree banks, grass, collect water surface trash, dredge ponds, and drainage ditches; ensure construction order and traffic safety, and mobilize forces to remove illegal advertisements and classified ads, etc.
Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Tho District Kieu Trong Sy said that the contest "Keeping village roads, alleys, hamlets, villages, and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe" is not only within the scope of building and maintaining one or two typical village roads, hamlets, and alleys, but the greater goal is to spread the district's environmental protection movement to every alley, hamlet, residential group, and family. Thereby, contributing to creating a positive effect for a green, civilized, clean, and beautiful Phuc Tho district.
