Many practical activities
In the final days of the year, when the weather in the mountainous area of Dak Pring commune is often cold and rainy, the studies and daily lives of students there face many difficulties. Understanding this reality, the Youth Union of the Da Nang City People's Committee recently organized a spring volunteer program, bringing warmth to children in the highlands through concrete and practical actions.
Accordingly, the delegation donated 575 warm jackets to students and built a playground shelter at Dak Pring Ethnic Boarding Primary School, helping the children have safer conditions for learning and playing.
Not stopping at providing immediate support, the volunteer team also deployed the construction of a solar power system in the Be Ta Bot residential area, an isolated community currently without access to the national power grid. Mr. Alang Tu, a resident of Dac Pring commune, said that previously, at night, people faced many difficulties and potential safety risks. "Since the solar power system was installed, people's lives have become more convenient, and they can work and produce with peace of mind," Mr. Alang Tu shared.
According to Nguyen Huu Viet Cuong, Secretary of the Youth Union of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Tet (Lunar New Year) is the time when the unit focuses its volunteer activities on mountainous and disadvantaged areas, contributing to ensuring social welfare. "The results of these programs are thanks to the support of grassroots Youth Union organizations and philanthropists, all sharing the desire to bring a warm and meaningful spring to the people," said Nguyen Huu Viet Cuong.
Located nearly 100km from the city center, Phuoc Tra commune still faces many difficulties. Recently, the Youth Union of the city's Party agencies, in coordination with the People's Procuracy of the city, organized the "Spring of Love" program in 2026 in this locality. The program donated 24 sets of desks and chairs to Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School, provided 300 reams of notebooks for students, and distributed 100 gift packages to disadvantaged households, with a total cost of nearly 130 million VND.
According to Nguyen Ba Duan, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union and President of the City Youth Federation, in mountainous and border areas, people's lives are still difficult. Therefore, activities to care for the people during Tet (Lunar New Year) focus on providing essential supplies and building essential public works. These practical actions clearly demonstrate the pioneering and volunteer role of the Youth Union in social welfare work, contributing to bringing a warm spring to the people.
Similarly, Farmers' Associations at all levels in the city have actively implemented many activities aimed at supporting disadvantaged farmer members. A notable example is the "Warm Winter - Loving Tet" program organized by the Farmers' Association of Hoi An Tay ward in Khe Chu village, Tra Van commune. There, the delegation presented 100 gift packages containing essential goods and cash, as well as school supplies and clothing to students at Nam Tra My High School.
Ms. Vo Thi Nhu Lan, Vice President of the Farmers' Association of Hoi An Tay Ward, said that the total cost of the program was over 100 million VND, contributed by officials and farmer members in the area. In the coming time, the associations at all levels will continue to implement the "Tet of Compassion for Farmers" program, promoting the socialization of resources, paying attention to poor members and families of policy beneficiaries, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing in the community.
Providing good care for workers.
Along with activities focused on mountainous regions, the Da Nang City Federation of Labor also implemented many large-scale programs to care for the lives of union members and workers during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.
According to Phan Thi Thuy Linh, President of the City's Labor Union, the "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" program will be organized with many practical activities. The union will distribute more than 65,000 shopping vouchers, totaling over 6.5 billion VND, for union members and workers to shop at 4 "Trade Union Tet Markets" in industrial zones.
The "Trade Union Bus Trip" program continues to be implemented, transporting 4,600 union members and their relatives back to their hometowns for Tet (Lunar New Year) completely free of charge. The bus trips took place from February 11th to 15th (the 24th to 28th of the 12th lunar month), with routes to Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Tri in the North, and Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak , and Khanh Hoa in the South. In addition, nearly 2,000 train tickets will also be donated to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
In addition, the City Federation of Labor Unions distributed 24,000 Tet gifts worth 24 billion VND to union members and workers. Specifically, at the self-managed worker groups in the rented housing areas, the organization donated 1,000 gifts to workers who did not return home for Tet; and also met with, encouraged, and expressed gratitude to the management boards of the 74 self-managed worker groups. Many grassroots trade unions also organized "Year-End Trade Union Dinners," creating an atmosphere of solidarity and close ties between workers, businesses, and the trade union organization.
With diverse and flexible organizational forms, Tet welfare activities have created a peak period of social security in the city, contributing to stabilizing labor relations and ensuring the livelihoods of the people.
