Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that the Book and Reading Culture Day not only honors those who write and publish books, but more profoundly, it honors readers and revitalizes reading culture.

"This year, the National Book and Reading Culture Day aims for the publishing industry to contribute to building the national knowledge base, developing the intellectual workforce, and meeting the needs of industrialization and modernization of the country. Through a series of events, we aim to bring a new spirit: wherever people are, reading culture will flourish; wherever readers are, books will be close at hand, " Minister Nguyen Manh Hung stated.

Drumming and speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda Department - highly appreciated the organization of the Day of Books and Reading Culture, creating a beautiful cultural tradition for the people of Hanoi and the whole country.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia proposed that relevant ministries, departments, and agencies coordinate in implementing several tasks: Strengthening propaganda and education to raise community awareness of the meaning and importance of books and reading culture; focusing on investing in, supporting, and establishing institutions for promoting reading activities in schools, agencies, and units at all levels; increasing and encouraging the creation of high-value books and works to serve the increasingly diverse needs of readers; and promoting digital transformation in publishing, printing, and book distribution to create new value.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia beat the drum to officially open the event.

Within the framework of the Opening Ceremony, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution, the Department of External Information, Ministry of Information and Communications will coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports (Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center) to organize an exhibition of valuable books about the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam National Special Historical Monument; photos and books about the country and people of Vietnam in modern electronic versions and physical prints.

The Book Fair celebrating the Third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day was organized and implemented with a strong cultural focus right in the Ho Van area (located within the complex of the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam National Historical Monument), with ample space for introducing and promoting books from publishers, distributors, and technology companies.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia and Minister Nguyen Manh Hung visited the book stalls.

Approximately 60 participating units are expected to showcase, introduce, and provide readers with over 40,000 valuable books. The Book Fair, celebrating the Third National Book and Reading Culture Day, will also feature numerous events including book launches, author and book discussions, and outstanding artistic performances... aiming to provide readers and visitors with many interesting experiences and attract a wide range of people from all walks of life to the Book Fair.

In response to Vietnam's Book and Reading Culture Day, ministries, central organizations, and associations will organize many diverse, rich, and practical activities to promote and develop reading culture in each agency, unit, school, and society as a whole. Locally, many rich, diverse, and practical activities will take place to celebrate Vietnam's Book and Reading Culture Day.
