Pioneering in responding to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training , this year's reading culture festival at Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School not only focuses on honoring and spreading familiar reading culture values, but also expands its scope to include timely knowledge of the digital age.
This is a space for students, teachers, and parents to discuss the future of learning; it also provides an open learning environment where reading is approached through various modern forms such as reading, listening, discussing, performing, and creating content, opening up opportunities to connect with the community through engaging experiences centered around books.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Principal of Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School, emphasized that reading culture is not just about acquiring knowledge through books, but also a fundamental skill that helps students learn how to think, select information, ask questions, and construct their own understanding.
Every experience is an opportunity for students to hone their thinking skills, nurture their creativity, and develop essential abilities for the future – in line with the High Performance Learning philosophy that the school is pursuing. Reading is no longer just a learning skill; it's a way for them to build intellectual character and a system of life values.
"In the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the greatest gift adults can give their children is not technology, but time spent reading together. In a world full of answers, be someone who knows how to ask questions. In a world full of speed, be someone who knows how to stop and read. In a world full of technology, always maintain a thoughtful mind and a sensitive heart," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy.
Speaking at the event, Professor Dr. Le Anh Vinh, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, presented a paper on the topic "AI in Vietnamese Education," highlighting key issues and creating a space for experts, education managers, teachers, and parents to listen and exchange ideas about AI and the role of technology in learning and personal development. He also shared methods for fostering critical thinking, adaptability, and lifelong learning abilities.

Professor Le Anh Vinh emphasized that education is entering an era of "overabundance of solutions," where AI can provide answers almost instantly. Therefore, introducing AI into schools is no longer an option, but a necessary preparation for students to understand technology correctly, learn in a personalized way, develop creative thinking, and be ready for the future workforce. In this context, the core goal of education needs to shift towards developing higher-order thinking – including analysis, synthesis, evaluation, problem-solving, and creativity. These competencies do not exist in isolation but are formed through an integrated approach, linked to practice and interdisciplinary fields, and constantly intersecting and complementing each other to help students adapt to a rapidly changing world.
The event offered many engaging and creative experiential activities such as: Cosplaying book characters, creating stories, searching for codes within the pages, exploring the colorful world of books, a reading culture workshop, reading and understanding stations, the Book Face Challenge, and Book Exchange... Through these activities, students not only accessed book content in traditional ways but also participated in rich interactive forms, contributing to a renewed reading experience, developing critical thinking, fostering creativity, and fostering essential skills for the future – in line with the High Performance Learning philosophy that the school aims for.
On this occasion, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy launched the Vietnamese version of the book "Machine Learning and Human Intelligence". By translating this exceptional work by Professor Rosemary Luckin – an internationally renowned scholar on the future of education and technology, especially artificial intelligence – Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy hopes to contribute to building a "common language" among schools, teachers, and parents in accessing and applying artificial intelligence in education.
