According to the program, the Trung Luong fishing festival includes many characteristic religious rituals of worshipping whales (Ông Cá, the God of the South Sea) of coastal residents such as: welcoming the water god, offering sacrifices to the God of the South Sea, performing traditional boat rowing to bring the God of the South Sea into the temple, initiating ceremonial singing, the coronation ceremony… along with folk cultural activities and beach sports .

The highlight of this year's festival is the traditional opera performance on the nights of April 12th to 15th (lunar calendar); along with folk games such as blindfolded duck catching, tug-of-war, football, sack racing… creating a lively atmosphere and attracting locals and tourists to participate.

At the same time, fishermen in the coastal villages of Vinh Loi (An Luong commune, Gia Lai province) and De Gi (De Gi commune, Gia Lai province) also organized fishing festivals on a larger scale than in previous years, attracting a large number of fishermen and tourists from all over to participate.
Since the beginning of the year, coastal localities in Gia Lai province have focused on organizing expanded fishing festivals, increasing cultural and sports activities and folk art performances to promote the beauty of marine culture and introduce the worship of the Whale God by coastal residents to tourists; thereby creating an additional highlight in the series of activities in response to the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026.
