Leaders of countries send congratulatory messages/letters on the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam's National Day

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the leaders of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the People's Republic of China, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Cuba, the Russian Federation, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic of India, and Mongolia sent congratulatory messages and letters to the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.

(1) The Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction sent congratulatory messages to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

In the telegrams, 80 years ago, under the brilliant and wise leadership of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people carried out the revolutionary cause of fighting against colonial invaders with great courage, determination and great sacrifices for many decades to gain independence for the nation in 1945 and continued to fight against imperialist invaders, persistently combining the strength of the great solidarity of the Vietnamese people with the strength of the times and the support and assistance of international friends along with the burning aspiration of the great President Ho Chi Minh, affirming: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom".

The Lao leaders warmly congratulated and considered Vietnam's victories as invaluable lessons and a great source of encouragement for Laos in the cause of national defense and development. The Lao leaders firmly believe that under the wise and correct leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam , the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve even greater achievements in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress and moving towards successfully organizing the 14th National Congress of the Party to continue building Vietnam into a modern industrialized country, fulfilling the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, equality and civilization.

The Lao leaders are extremely proud to see that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, two states and peoples of Laos and Vietnam, founded by the great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong and tempered in the fire of revolution for decades, has become a priceless common heritage, an everlasting law, ensuring the stability and development of the two nations, one of the decisive factors for the victory of each country and up to now has been continuously cared for, nurtured and developed more and more deeply, bearing fruit, bringing practical benefits to the people of Laos and Vietnam. The Lao leaders expressed their deep gratitude to the Party, State and people of the brotherly Vietnam, who have always provided great, valuable, effective and timely assistance to Laos up to now.

(2) General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping sent congratulatory messages to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Cuong sent congratulatory messages to Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Zhao Leji sent congratulatory messages to Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.

In their congratulatory messages, key Chinese leaders congratulated Vietnam on its achievements, including political and social stability, rapid economic development, the continuous improvement of people's lives, and the continuous enhancement of its international and regional influence; they believed that under the steadfast leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam would certainly firmly follow the path of socialism in accordance with the country's situation, successfully organize the 14th Party Congress, and vigorously advance towards the two goals of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the country.

Regarding China-Vietnam relations, key Chinese leaders shared that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 75 years ago, the traditional friendship of “both comrades and brothers” personally built and diligently cultivated by the leaders of the two countries has been growing. China always considers Vietnam a priority direction in neighborly diplomacy, and is willing to take the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Year of Humanitarian Exchanges as an opportunity with Vietnam to continue to promote the traditional friendship, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Vietnam to become more substantial and in-depth, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, and making greater contributions to the cause of peace and progress of mankind.

(3) King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia Khuon Sudary, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Manet sent congratulatory letters to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.

In the letter, the Cambodian leader expressed his admiration for Vietnam's rapid and comprehensive development, its increasingly important role and position in the region and the world; emphasized that the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 is a historic event, reflecting the strength and solidarity of the Vietnamese people in the cause of building a prosperous, modern and self-reliant country under the wise and steadfast leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past eight decades, and believed that under the talented leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will realize the goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045.

The Cambodian leaders expressed their respect and appreciation for the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between the two countries; believing that with the foundation that has been carefully cultivated by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries, the friendly relations and close cooperation between the two parties, two states and people of the two countries will continue to be consolidated and enhanced, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

(4) First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong.

In his letters to the Vietnamese leaders, Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez highly appreciated the great achievements that Vietnam has achieved throughout its history, especially under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam; emphasizing that the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the predecessor of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam today, 80 years ago is considered an important historical milestone, embodying the dream of a prosperous, peaceful and developed country. Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez affirmed that Vietnam's victories in the struggle against colonialism and imperialism and the Doi Moi process today are a great source of inspiration for peoples fighting for independence and freedom. On this occasion, Cuba reaffirmed its determination to continue to strengthen the traditional friendship and close ties between the two peoples, which were built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro.

(5) President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin sent a congratulatory message to Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.

The Russian leaders warmly congratulated the leaders and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the great holiday and emphasized that over the past 80 years, Vietnam has achieved many great achievements and is now confidently moving forward on the path of socio-economic progress and has an increasingly growing reputation in the Asia-Pacific region and on the international arena. The Russian high-ranking leaders affirmed that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is developing positively, and the coordination of joint efforts on regional and international issues is bringing about good results in the spirit of mutual respect and taking into account each other's interests.

On this occasion, Chairman of the All-Russian Political Party "United Russia" Dmitry Medvedev and Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov sent congratulatory letters to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam.

(6) General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Pak Thae Song sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh.

In the congratulatory messages, the DPRK leaders sent their congratulations to the leaders, Party, Government and people of Vietnam; wished the Vietnamese people to achieve even greater achievements in the struggle to build a socialist state; and expressed their belief that the traditional friendship between the two parties and countries will develop in accordance with the cause of socialism and the common interests of the people of the two countries.

(7) President of the Republic of India Droupadi Murmu sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh.

In their congratulatory letters and messages, the Indian leaders expressed their admiration for the Vietnamese people's bravery and resilience in defending and building the country; emphasized that the upgrading of India-Vietnam relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership reflects the long-standing ties, political trust, mutual understanding and shared common values; affirmed that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam is an important pillar in India's "Act East" policy and new global strategy; and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and India for the benefit of the two peoples.

On this occasion, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) also sent a congratulatory letter to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

(8) President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh sent a congratulatory message to President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, Prime Minister of Mongolia Gombojav Zandanshatar sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh; Chairman of the National Assembly of Mongolia Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan sent a congratulatory message to Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.

At the congratulatory messages, the Mongolian leaders congratulated the great achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have made in the cause of national construction and development over the past 80 years; believing that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve even greater new achievements, thereby contributing to building a strong and prosperous country and constantly enhancing its international position.

* On this occasion, Foreign Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Head of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee Bounleua ​​Phandanouvong, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Choe Son Hui sent congratulatory letters and telegrams to Acting Foreign Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Le Hoai Trung.
