Major General Tran Son Ha said that the ceremony was not only an occasion to demonstrate the strength of national unity, but also a reminder for today's generations to never forget the glorious past. Standing in the middle of the historic Ba Dinh Square, in the heroic atmosphere commemorating the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence, I felt like I was reliving the sacred memories of the nation, from the years of fighting against feudal, colonial, and imperialist domination to the journey to regain independence and freedom.
Today, our country is very different from the past, people's lives are increasingly improved. Especially, under the leadership of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and General Secretary To Lam , the country is entering a new era of strong development and prosperity.
"What I want to tell the young generation today is to always remember the tradition of ardent patriotism that Uncle Ho affirmed as 'the precious tradition of our nation'. Whenever the Fatherland needs it, that spirit rises like a strong wave, sweeping away all invaders. I believe that with a good knowledge base, modern infrastructure and intelligence and courage, the young generation will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, continue to build and protect the Fatherland, and bring Vietnam to rise strongly in the new era," Major General Tran Son Ha emphasized.

Sharing the same pride, Mr. Pham Cong Vien (70 years old), Veterans Association of Soc Son commune, expressed: After the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, he had the opportunity to witness the historic parade in 1975. Today, after 50 years, he witnessed the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day. For him, this is an extremely meaningful event, demonstrating that the Party and State continue to implement Uncle Ho's Testament - attaching importance to educating the revolutionary tradition to the younger generation, so that they will always remember the important days of the nation.
Veteran Pham Cong Vien shared that he joined the army in 1973, then was transferred to the Military Ordnance Department - now the General Department of Defense Industry, participating in the production of weapons for combat. He spent 36 years in the army, then transferred to work as a defense worker. Looking back, he sees that his contribution was only small, but he feels extremely satisfied to have contributed a part of his strength to help the country achieve what it has today.
"Today, I am filled with pride. All the people are moved when looking back at 80 years of fighting to protect and build the country. The country is changing very quickly and developing strongly. I have complete confidence in the Party and State's guidelines and policies. I believe that Vietnam will continue to develop "more properly and beautifully" according to President Ho Chi Minh's will, to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world's great powers. That is both the responsibility and the belief that our previous generation wants to entrust to their descendants," Veteran Pham Cong Vien shared.
Youthful aspiration to be in harmony with the country
Not only is it an honor and pride for the previous generation, the important event on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day also adds strength and aspiration to today's young generation. Ms. Legrand Milou said she has lived in Vietnam for 31 years, loves every street corner, every flower season, every smile of the people here, but this moment made her feel more deeply the sacredness of the national holiday.
"As someone working at the French Embassy, I clearly feel the intersection between two cultures - one is my origin, the other is my second homeland that I have been attached to for nearly half of my life. In the echoing sound of military music, I see the pride of the Vietnamese people, the strength and solidarity forged from the nation's glorious history," said Ms. Legrand Milou.
Witnessing the radiant eyes of the Vietnamese people, singing the national anthem, waving flags together, sharing "it was not just a ceremony, but a harmony of patriotism, of faith in the future".
For Ms. Legrand Milou, today's moment will be a beautiful memory that will never fade. This makes her love the land where she has lived for the past 31 years even more, urging her to continue to contribute, even if it is a small part, to the friendship between Vietnam and France, so that historical values and the spirit of solidarity will always be spread.
The overwhelming emotions, from the general who devoted his whole life to the cause of protecting the country, the veteran who experienced the war, the international friend who has been attached to Vietnam for nearly half his life, to today's young generation, all blended into a sacred chorus on the solemn occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
From the heroic memories of the nation to the innovative present, from today's responsibilities to tomorrow's aspirations, all meet at one common point: the steadfast belief in the strength of national unity, in the path of sustainable development and prosperity that the Party, State and people have chosen for Vietnam in the new era.
