Party, State and Military leaders visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum

Politburo members: President Vo Van Thuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai; Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man attended the funeral. Also attending were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Party Central Committee member, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and comrades: Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc; former Chairmen of the National Assembly: Nguyen Van An; Nguyen Sinh Hung; Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense included General Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army. Also participating in the delegation were Politburo members, former Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries, Party Central Committee members and leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and organizations.

The delegation's wreath bore the words "Forever grateful to the great President Ho Chi Minh ". Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the Party, State and Army leaders respectfully expressed their gratitude for his great contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation;

Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style continue to illuminate the path of the Vietnamese revolution. Our entire Party, people and army vow to forever follow the path chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh; strive to study, work and creatively apply his ideology to the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, making "the people rich, the country strong, democratic, equitable and civilized".

After visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the delegation laid wreaths, offered incense, and paid tribute to the heroic martyrs at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street. In a solemn atmosphere, the leaders of the Party, State, and Army expressed their gratitude to the nation's outstanding sons who did not spare their blood and bones, bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and for the happiness of the people.

* On the same morning, a delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense led by General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense, laid a wreath, visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and laid a wreath, and commemorated the heroic martyrs at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street.

The delegation included members of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Ministers of National Defense: Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, member of the Central Military Commission; Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam. Also joining the delegation were leaders of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; and commanders of a number of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense.

* Also on the morning of May 18, the delegation of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the delegation of Hanoi City came to lay wreaths, visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and lay wreaths and offer incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street.
