Major General Tran Duc Thuan appointed as Deputy Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee

The National Assembly Standing Committee approved Major General Tran Duc Thuan to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs of the 15th National Assembly.

This morning, the National Assembly Standing Committee announced and presented the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee approving the Vice Chairman of the Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs.

Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee approved Mr. Tran Duc Thuan, a full-time National Assembly delegate at the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee of the 15th National Assembly.

Presenting the resolution and giving a speech assigning tasks, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong said that Major General Tran Duc Thuan is a seconded military officer who has received thorough training.

Major General Tran Duc Thuan has extensive working experience, having held many positions: Prosecutor, Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Chief Prosecutor of Military Procuracy of Military Region 4; Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Central Military Procuracy; Standing Member, National Assembly delegate working full-time at the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs.

In each position, Major General Tran Duc Thuan has successfully completed assigned tasks, demonstrating his professional qualifications, capacity and political mettle.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that the approval of Major General Tran Duc Thuan to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs demonstrates the trust and recognition of the Secretariat, the National Assembly Party Committee, and the National Assembly Standing Committee.

In his speech accepting the assignment, Vice Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee Tran Duc Thuan affirmed that he will always be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, and the people, steadfast in the ideal goals chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho and our people; and maintain the mettle of a Vietnam People's Army officer - a full-time National Assembly delegate.

He affirmed that he will always continuously learn, promote intelligence, solidarity, and coordinate well with agencies, units, and the Committee to successfully complete assigned functions and tasks.

Mr. Tran Duc Thuan was born in 1968, his hometown is Nghe An province, his professional qualification is Master of Law. He is a National Assembly delegate of Nghe An province.

The National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs is chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi.

The Committee has 6 Vice Chairmen including: Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Duc, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung, Major General Nguyen Quoc Hung, Mr. Don Tuan Phong, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tien, Major General Tran Duc Thuan.
