Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City visited and worked with the Khmer Art Troupe

(CT) - On the afternoon of July 10, a delegation from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City visited and worked with the staff, civil servants and employees of the Khmer Art Troupe in Phu Loi Ward, Can Tho City.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, chaired the meeting; also attending were leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, former leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province (before the merger).

The Khmer Art Troupe before the merger was a public service unit under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province. The troupe's functions are to organize art performances, propagate and disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; conduct research, collect, preserve, restore, experiment, create, and organize the creation of various types of traditional art to serve the political , economic, cultural, social and other tasks of the locality. At the same time, it provides public service and serves state management in the field of performing arts according to the provisions of law.

In recent times, the Khmer Art Troupe has made many outstanding contributions in the fields of culture and art, contributing to the preservation of local traditional culture.

According to the leader of the Khmer Art Troupe, the unit is currently facing difficulties in recruiting, selecting, restructuring the team as well as appointing and re-appointing staff related to professional qualifications standards associated with job positions. In addition, there are difficulties in facilities, equipment serving artistic activities, and investment budget for artistic programs...

The leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism highly appreciated the efforts of the Khmer Art Troupe in the past time and encouraged the staff, artists and actors of the troupe to continue to strive and bring Khmer art and culture to the public. The working group acknowledged the difficulties and recommendations of the group and will find solutions to overcome them in the coming time.
