City leaders attend the Launching Ceremony, encourage the National Excellent Student Selection Teams, school year 2023 - 2024

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of January 2, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam attended the Launching Ceremony and encouraged the National Excellent Student Competition Teams for the 2023-2024 school year.

In the 2022-2023 school year, the city's Education and Training Department achieved many important and proud results, continuing to maintain its position at the top of provinces and cities in training and fostering National Excellent Students with 76 students winning prizes, ranking 4th nationwide and 02 First Prizes in the National Science and Technology Competition. Notably, in the recent International Olympiads, Hai Phong city had 01 student winning a Gold Medal in Mathematics, 02 students winning Silver Medals in Mathematics and Physics.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam and Director of the Department of Education and Training Bui Van Kiem presented flowers to congratulate the teams for their high achievements in the upcoming exam.

Along with that, the quality of key education and mass education continues to be improved. In the 2023 high school graduation exam, Hai Phong ranked 6th in the country in terms of average exam score, reaching 6.85 points, with 01 student achieving the highest score in the national group D01; the high school graduation rate reached 99.38%; the rate of students passing the university entrance exam reached 62%.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the city selected 116 outstanding students from 12 teams to participate in the National Excellent Student Competition, in addition to students from Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, there were also students from An Lao High School and Bach Dang High School; for the Science and Technology Competition, 02 Projects were selected to participate.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam emphasized that in recent years, Hai Phong has been considered a locality with many leading policies on education and training development, including many policies to encourage learning and talent; investment in facilities; consolidation, improvement and improvement of the quality of teachers at all levels; reward policies for excellent students and teachers... In his message to the students participating in the exam, the Vice Chairman stated that being selected to represent thousands of students in the city to participate in the National Excellent Student exam is an honor for them. This is also an important opportunity for them to affirm their intelligence and talent, and at the same time, it is also a big challenge.

In order to achieve high results in the exam, the Vice Chairman requested teachers and schools to continue to pay attention to further training, instructing test-taking skills, encouraging students mentally, and preparing them well mentally and mentally for the exam; requested the City Education Department to best prepare conditions and ensure security and safety for the exam.

The exam to select excellent students in cultural subjects will take place from January 5, 2024.
