Ho Chi Minh City leaders visit Martyrs Cemetery before Party Congress preparatory session

(Dan Tri) - Before the preparatory session of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, Secretary Tran Luu Quang and delegates visited, offered incense and flowers at the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs Cemetery.

On the morning of October 13, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang and delegates attending the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025-2030, visited the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs Cemetery (Long Binh ward).

Also joining the delegation were Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City, and representatives of the leaders of the Party Committee of the City Party Committee, departments and branches.

The funeral was held before the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress entered the preparatory session.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation respectfully offered incense, flowers, and observed a moment of silence to express their respect and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification. The delegates also offered incense at each grave in the City Martyrs Cemetery.

Before the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, working delegations led by leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and representatives of agencies visited the former Binh Duong Province Martyrs' Cemetery and the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province Martyrs' Cemetery.

On October 12, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang and the delegation attending the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025-2030, experienced Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) and offered incense, flowers, and paid their respects at the Hung Kings Monument located in the Ho Chi Minh City National Historical and Cultural Park.

The activities before the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee were held in 3 regions of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong and the old Ho Chi Minh City, with special significance. This was not only a practical trip but also a profound political and ideological activity, helping delegates to better visualize the scale, structure, identity and development potential of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger.

The 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, took place from October 13 to October 15. The preparatory session of the Congress took place on October 13, the official opening session on the morning of October 14 and the closing session on October 15.

At this Congress, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Executive Committee allocated delegates to the Party Committees of wards, communes, special zones and higher levels, based on the number of Party members and the characteristics and situation of each unit; 550 delegates were summoned, including 110 ex-officio delegates and 440 appointed delegates, divided into 12 groups.
