Provincial People's Committee leaders work with the delegation of the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of December 5, the leaders of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee held a meeting and worked with the delegation of the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City led by Ms. Susan Burns, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City. Working with the delegation on the Dak Lak side were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh; and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

At the meeting, leaders of Dak Lak province and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City expressed their joy that after 28 years of establishing diplomatic relations (1995 - 2023), especially since the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership in 2013, the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the United States has had positive developments; economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has continuously developed.

In particular, President Joe Biden's State visit in September 2023 opened a new phase of cooperation when the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace , Cooperation and Sustainable Development.

Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh said that cooperation between Dak Lak province and US partners in recent years has achieved some positive results through programs and projects of US sponsors and investors in the fields of health, education, and agriculture, contributing to practical support for the province's socio-economic development. Currently, Dak Lak province is aiming for rapid, sustainable, and comprehensive socio-economic development on the basis of focusing, attracting, and mobilizing resources to develop industries and fields with potential and competitive advantages. The province wishes to cooperate with the US in many fields, especially agricultural product export, processing industry, health, education, and trade and services.

Consul General Susan Burns is interested in areas where the United States can cooperate with Dak Lak province, especially in the coffee industry, wind power, and education.

At the same time, she affirmed that the United States is ready to cooperate and support Dak Lak province in developing renewable energy infrastructure; training to improve English proficiency for students and local civil servants. The Consul General also hopes that the cooperative relationship with Dak Lak province will be increasingly strengthened and developed in many fields.
